Kramr Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Have a week off starting August 7. Planning a trip to Norfork. Will be looking for walleye and crappie. Figure it will be pretty hot by then and the thermocline will be down around 30 feet or more. Should I plan on just fishing at night? If so, is it better to start late evening to night or get up early and fish night to morning? Where should I be fishing? Will be at Blackburns so where in that area should I concentrate on? Is August a bad time all around on Norfork? Plus the water will still be high since they are only dropping it a couple of inches everyday. How will that factor in?
dan hufferd Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Find Kevin Baker on youtube. That will get you fired up. Kramr 1
nomolites Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 They will be in defined areas, deep; Steve at Blackburn's will have a good idea where but if it were me I would plan on 3/4 or 1 oz spoons deep or fishing at night. You may be able to BB for walleye with crawlers as well. Mike Kramr 1

rps Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 If you can make it happen, arrange a day with the guide, Binks. http://www.binksguideservice.com/ One day with him should set you up for your entire stay. If you can not make that happen, track his posts, and Buster Loving's on Bull Shoals, and you will have a starting point. Good luck!

Never heard of Buster Loving but will look him up as well. Thanks!
mojorig Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 These DO readings were taken on 7/11 at various spots around Norfork Lake by the Lake Norfork Striper Club. This will give you a good idea of where the thermocline is now on Norfork. Email before you come and I'll send the latest DO readings.
