Planer Board ?

Dan the flicker rig is berkleys version of a crawler rig w/ 2 single hooks, I just modify it to a single VMC hook which has a built in swivel that allows the nightcrawler to slowly rotate in a circle as you troll it.  I use half a crawler w/ this setup.

I've tried something similar with a bandit 300 a ball bearing swivel, 6" of line and slow death hook.  But, I was trying it at crankbait trolling speeds.  I'm guessing you're slowing it down to about 1 mph?

 

Nevermind, I see the flicker rig is just a dual hook crawler harness!!!!

I use both large and small boards, the bigger boards require a stiffer rod and a bit higher test line.  Boards are kind of a pain but they do get your lures out quite a ways.  Easier for me and probably as effective over time have been the dipsy divers, which you can turn the weight collar on to take them out to either side of the boat.  For boards or divers I recommend rod holders as they both pull pretty good and would tire me out after a while.

I think he talking about a crawler harness with a slow death hook. The blades come in the same color a flicker shad. I have a couple and yes the name threw me off too.
