Basfis Posted September 8, 2017 Posted September 8, 2017 I think SI at the helm is the ticket. Networking would be nice, switchfire on Humminbird units is nice and simple and allows depth readings at speed thru the hull. I put a larger 9 on the bow as it is further from my eyes than the 7 on the helm is. Both are easy enough to see with middle age? eyes. If networked, an SI on the bow might be neat though I'd not want the SI transducer on the trolling motor. The DI is expensive enough to bang on the bottom and the US2 in the fortrex is darn near indestructible.
m&m Posted September 8, 2017 Posted September 8, 2017 I'm going to chime in. I upgraded my electronics last year. After research I chose the Raymarine dragonfly pro7. I have one on the console and one on the trolling by motor. I stayed away from SI. The units are great for the way I use them. The clarity and detail are great. Before you upgrade, I suggest you look into them. IMO Mike
