semble Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Going to take my nephew this weekend for his first duck hunt! Saw plenty of ducks moving around yesterday while out setting dekes and touching up the blind. Mostly woodies with a few gadwall and teal. Why MDC shifted the north zone dates a week later is beyond me. We are usually iced out by the second week of Dec. Although, it does mean more ducks for my nephew this weekend on youth hunt! semble Posted October 29, 2017 Author Posted October 29, 2017 My nephew got his first Duck! We had plenty of activity and he had an absolute blast. I couldn't be prouder of how he handled himself in and around the blind. BilletHead, tho1mas, Buck and 2 others 5

The weather and ducks certainly cooperated and he made a perfect shot at his mallard. We broke three ducks off a larger group on their first pass and they were hanging with their wings cupped and feet down 20-25yds in front of the blind. I was surprised at how many mallards were in the area; cold weather definitely has them moving. We had lots woodies and mallards work us and a group of shovelers, too. Can't wait for next weekend!
