Arkansas Stream Smallmouths

Some are quick to trash our state conservation Depts...yet they do a lot, since we have bee talking about smallmouth bass streams I found this to share

Probably would have never been an issue if somebody didn't turn the river bottom into a cow pasture right up to the edge of the river.

agreed ...to many "old timers' pushing out fence rows tossing in old tires and setting it a blaze.....still see it in many a farm field as well....habitat is the key...I have a friend with a spring seep on his ground and I told him it would make a wonderful pond/wetland...his 1st response is it "would cut down on how many cattle he can keep"...this is the same guy who buys a rental house and cuts down all the trees "so they can't take out any power lines"...stupidity is rampant....its why tuff laws have to be put in place...one or two nimrods can jack up an area that could take decades to remediate....
