Most coves are partially frozen over now. Neil’s bluff was totally solid. The river current has slowed to a trickle & twin bridges is nearly solid. I would assume any boat ramp in these smaller coves will be completely frozen over this week. I haven’t seen any dead shad yet, but their clock is ticking

Thanks for the update sir.  

I drove out yesterday evening to take a look up from pin hook area.  

From Mill Hollow up all I could see was a sheet of ice stretch all the way across. lol

No this will last through the spring.  

Lot has to do with it being murky, darker water and holds heat from the sun.  That starts the whole food chain process.
