Members Dinkslayer Posted February 26, 2018 Members Posted February 26, 2018 Fished the lake Saturday starting at 7 am when the rains cleared and fished until 5:30 pm. We caught about 25 bass on jerkbaits and A-rigs but nothing worth a pic! Only ended up with 2 legal keepers all day. It seemed the bite was picking up for us compared to the last few trips. Water temps varied from 40 to 44 in some creeks. Started on channel swings down by the dam and fished all the way back to Shawnee bend. Figured out around 10:30 that we were only getting a consistent bite around deeper secondary points. Pretty much stuck to that and made the trip sort of enjoyable for this time of year and for the wet conditions we endured. Good luck and be careful! I will be at it again next weekend if the warden lets me out... nomolites and snagged in outlet 3 2
shrapnel Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 We caught around 30 yesterday with 9 keepers, but nothing over 4lbs. The big ones are gorging on dying shad and hard to fool right now. Dinkslayer 1
Members RogueAgent Posted February 26, 2018 Members Posted February 26, 2018 We fooled a few yesterday (Sunday) up Indian Creek just past the mudline on sunny banks after noon. Shad colored squarebills and dark red Spro Rock Crawler was the deal for us. Nothing over 3lbs. Had to be ticking rocks with as slow a retrieve as possible. Saw lots of bird and topwater activity in the mouths of the creeks. I probably should have tried a spoon where we saw them busting. snagged in outlet 3 1
