Tanderson15 Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 I walk around the lake as it is only a half mile from my house. I have never fished it. I see boats on the lake and a canoe once in a while. The fish I see being caught are trout (mostly), bass, and blue gill. When they stock trout forget the weekends. I have a friend from church who fishes it often for trout and does well. Sorry I can’t provide more living so close.

I am not sure anyone knows the real answer. I think some confusion lies in the remodel which most assuredly caused several rule changes. Back before all that I was able to take my WW kayak and practice rolling...but you cant even get a vehicle all the way around anymore.

I'm pretty sure it gets stocked with trout during the winter and catfish when it is warm. You'll definitely need an AR license to fish it, and a trout permit if you intend to keep trout. Any fees Rogers charges would be in addition to state permits. Gotcha. I have the AR ST Fish Lic with trout "stamp". I think I'm just going to see for myself. I only really want to go out after work when its probably too late to launch the boat and all at Beaver. I should have kept my slip.
Members Overlook Posted April 23, 2019 Members Posted April 23, 2019 I fish it weekly and often from my kayak to hit the areas that aren't pressured. All you need is your fishing license and trout stamp if you intend to fish for them. You will find plenty of large mouth, blue gill and catfish. I've caught trout during the cold months when they stock it and I've seen carp.

Does anyone have that info or know where I could get it? Thanks in advance. Hi, I moved to AR in November 2018, since then , I used to go for fishing every weekend in Lake Atalanta, First few weeks I got some bluegills only and in Jan & Feb they stocked 2300 trouts in total, now it seems like almost all the trouts were taken, because even its not biting on both artificial and live baits, so I am looking for Bass only, plenty of large mouths are there but you have to release immediately, if you are looking for bass check for the area where its fully covered with aquatic plants before the boat ramp, Use top water creature baits, you can also try trouts using power bait orange or rainbow eggs, live red worms will also works, but I am doubtful about the number of trouts left there.I never caught a single catfish from that lake, but I tried all the different baits, but nothing brings any luck, people are usually fishing for catfish in the other end of the lake(near the dam), I am not sure about the motor boats rules , but lot of kayakers are there. The general rules for fishing follows Daily Limits: 3-catfish, 5-trout, 25-bream, Largemouth bass must be released,Fishing with handheld rod only.Trout permits are required to retain Thanks
