I just bought a 12 foot solo canoe this last weekend. Thought at using it on Fellows and Lake Springfield. Do we have to get a permit for Fellows? What about Lake Springfield?

$20 non-motorized boat permit at Fellows, Springfield Lake is free.

Hey guys! New to the site but saw this topic and wanted to say that I have usually been skunked at fellows before but this whole week I've gone and fished from the bank and have gotten bit every single time. Today was my slowest day with one strike on topwater. I noticed the only difference between today and the rest was no clouds. My best luck has been on the last cove closest to the dam in the main cove and on the point  anytime from 4-close but have caught fish in 3 other coves as well. And I've only caught fish on 2 baits. a bone colored popper or a 6inch green pumpkin senko worm, Neko rigged. Biggest one so far was right under 2.5lbs with the popper and had another 2.5-3lb bass get off the Neko yesterday when it got my line hung in a brush pile right on the bank. I've tried green pumpkin jigs with twin tail trailers, frogs by brush piles, spook, ploppers, and Texas rig with no luck besides the popper and Neko rig. Haven't tried a jerk or spinnerbait yet but I hope this helps if you plan to hit fellows anytime soon!

Went back this morning with a friend on his canoe and had 10+ fish. All on the green pumpkin worm and popper again. Ran the popper parallel with the bank and across points. And almost all the fish came off wooded structure.

Thank you for the location. I have fished that cove. I think its one of the better structures on the lake being so close to very deep water. I'll let you know how I do going tomorrow.

last outing was only one fish one bite...
