My son and I took the day off yesterday to fish in the horrible wind. We caught 29 whites, 1 crappie and several largemouth. All of them on windy points and banks which were really not to hard to find yesterday on the main lake.

When we cleaned them, almost all the whites were busting at the seams with eggs. Isn't it a little late for them not to have spawned?

yes by our calendar, but the water temp has not been consistent and really up until last week it  has been in the mid to high 40's. fish that live and stay in/on the main lake act differently than the ones that live in the river. I personally have not been any farther south than Roark this year so I don't know what the temp has been in the rivers need Greenfield or Aldrich, I would think those river fished have spawned but who knows with this weather.

No they haven't all spawned in the rivers. By the looks of the ones cleaned last week they have a while to go still.

I've caught whites that had not spawned on the main lake on Stockton at night in May.  I'm going to see if I can find some of those next week as the moon comes full.

Caught a dozen more Saturday almost on back to back casts. They were about half and half male and females so they must be doing their thing. Also picked up a 17 in eye and a nice crappie. Could have caught a ton more whites but was more interested in the eyes and crappie.

I've never really fished Stockton.  When you are chasing the whites this time of year what jigs do you use?  I'm trying to learn new stuff and I usually only fish for whites on Lake of the Ozarks in the fall with 1/16 oz maribou.

We were up today out of Roark Bluff and caught over 65 whites and 20 nice crappie. 90% of the whites were busting at the seam and had very rounded bellies.  The 6 whites we kept and cleaned all had eggs.
