Fished from 7 until around 3 with full intentions of trying to get a few crappie.  That did not work out.  Ended up getting skunked on those.  Did however find white bass that just wouldn't quit.  Ended up catching 52 and left with them still biting.  Gave the whites a short break this afternoon and did catch 10 largemouth, 3 keepers, on a rockcrawler parralleling some chunk rock banks with some wind.  Went back and the whites were still going until I left.  All the whites came on an A-rig.

Had probably 16 or so whites that were over 15".

  The White Bass ( and other ) fishing is on Fire right now !!! Good fishing can get us all in trouble though if we are not careful.

 

  White Bass, daily limit I believe is 15. No more that 4 that are over 18" . Don't want anyone leaving the lake with more than they counted on................... Like a nice ticket to pay !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is definitely on fire.  I actually was unaware of the limit on the ones over 18" until last week.  Only 13 of them went into the livewell and I dont think I was lucky enough to have any hit the 18" mark.   That would be one heck of a fight.

4 over 18"limit is to limit the number of hybrids kept in waters that hold them

  You are correct but the regulation applies to all of the "White Bass Fishes" irregardless of whether the waters contain the hybrids or not. It is certainly possible to catch "regular white bass" that are 18" although that is quite a tank !!!

All temprate bass, stripers, hybrid & whites. Only 4 over 18".  Yes, you could be in jeopardy of a violation on lake like BS & TR that have big whites.  I wish they would change the wording of the law. I feel there should be a minimum length on hybrids. People below Truman & other areas that contain hybrids, take out full stringers of baby hybrids. It's so easy to tell them apart.  With me, if it has parallel teeth patches on the tongue they go back to grow up. Heart shaped tongue patch, into the basket if I'm keeping fish.

  You are right about changing the regulations. The problem is that we are not considered "smart enough" to tell the difference. That is one of the excuses about the Kentuckies having their own category and length limit. I say simply this, " Then are we smart enough to tell the difference in smallmouth / Largemouth/kentuckies/ every other kind of Bass??
