fishinwrench Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Was there many MANY years ago, have distant relatives and met my very first girlfriend there. We fished, but I don't recall catching anything. I think my concentration was on other things. I recall rolling meadows, brick streets and sidewalks, and smallish trees. Gavin 1
Gavin Posted May 4, 2018 Author Posted May 4, 2018 Vaca with the kids, fishing not a priority, but we will do some.
Blll Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 While most are fishing for walleyes and muskies, its a great big bluegill fishery.
Members watermen2 Posted May 19, 2018 Members Posted May 19, 2018 I have not fished it in 10 years, but there used to be good smallie fishing in the rivers close. As stated we were mainly chasing W and M. Have heard about the gills, just never fished them. WI lakes seem to have bigger gills in general than locally. The weather will be cooler for sure! If you're that close, a trip to superior would be worth it with the kids and the bird carvers museum in Wausau is pretty amazing. The Brule is not too far and has some good classic trout water, never hear about it much down this way. It's worth checking off the list.
MOFishwater Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 I'm heading up Friday for a week in Minocqua and taking my kayak. Does anyone know the regs for nonmotorized craft up there? I have an Ascend 12T fishing kayak. As far as I understand it I'm not needing registration; I bought my unit on craigslist and I dont have a title so I am hoping i'm correct that I need not worry about it. If you can ease my mind I'd appreciate it:) I do not have it registered in MO as it's not needed. Only using a paddle, no trolling motor or electronics of any type...
