Please share this out with your friends and invite them to join us as well. the flyer was update do to show the correct start time the correct start time is 8:00pm, not 7:30pm. Sorry for the confusion
shrapnel Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 I fished this one, and ended in a 3 way tie for 6th place with 18.51! I don't think I have ever seen a tie before, much less 3 exact weights.

shrapnel Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 I know for a fact one of them had at least one fish with a shaky head in it's throat. Not bitchin, the club does it's best. I do hope they take some of the money made from these to buy new bags and do a better job of managing the weigh in line to cut down on time fish spend in bags. They do ask that you use their bags, but with their set-up probably shouldn't give out more than 10. The one I grabbed had 127 holes in it so I used my own.

I could see it, or something like it, being the future of the sport. Problem is, there are still a lot of guys that want to have their “bassmaster classic” moment.
slothman Posted June 5, 2018 Author Posted June 5, 2018 Shrapnel, thanks for coming out. I should have checked to see if anyone on here was planning to fish the tournament and maybe we could have met face to face. How did you guys do? We finished with 16.86. It was a pretty tough night for us. We didn’t have a keeper until close to 3:00am. We ended up culling 2 or 3 times after sunrise. I heard really mixed reports of how people were catching them. We couldn’t seem to get bit on anything but a Texas-rigged worm. There were some decent sacks of fish. I’d love to know how people were catching them. A lot of people said they caught a bunch. Id love to see the club invest in some good weigh bags (I didn’t know know they were encouraging everyone to use their bags, I used my own.). There has also been some talk about upgrading and getting new scales. I expect that with the next club open there will be a pretty good chance for a polygraph just to keep everything on the up and up.

Caught 20+ keepers through the night, culling by 10pm. Fishing got a lot better once the moon got up high. slothman 1

slothman Posted June 6, 2018 Author Posted June 6, 2018 The bag issue makes sense. I’m pretty new to the tournament scene and didn’t think of that. What, if anything, could be done to speed up the line?
