need help on motor

I have a Skykomish pontoon and use it in the Sea of Cortez, MX.  I am searching for some help on using a gas motor instead of electric.

I am considering either 2.5 or 3.5 hp 4 stroke.  The Suzuki 2.5 is only 30 lbs and that is less than an electric and battery.  Please any thoughts or experience would be apprecited.
