Rootman Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 Put in at Roark as many did today and ended up catching about 50 crappie, unfortunately most were shorts. Brought home 12 keepers. Caught them in 20-30 ft over brush on mostly monkey milk color, some on electric chicken. Was a nice day on the water, small fish are better than none! Hope others had better luck with the keepers. waterpossum Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 We had an extremely hard time finding crappie Saturday out of the same ramp. Caught about a dozen shorts and 5 keepers, which we returned to the water. We tried 12 different brush pile locations and found fish in only one pile in 18'. Fishing can sure humble a man, especially given how easy it has been to catch a good amount before the two foot lake rise. For one, the shad I had been graphing just were not there. Usually late winter there is a shad movement up river. It seems a little early for that, but I guess I'll give it a try and go looking Wednesday.
Members Dbeard4u Posted January 7, 2019 Members Posted January 7, 2019 Went out from CC greenfield ramp Saturday and had no luck. Just very few fish no the graph. Beautiful day though. Love the water..
