Rootman Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 Can anyone tell me what the water is like after the rain this week? I am an hour south west of Stockton and the rivers and creeks are up and muddied up a bit. Has the rain muddied up the lake any? Wanting to head up Saturday and fish Roark area. Any lake info much appreciated. Thx
Dutch Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 I'd also be interested in knowing as I want to fish Son's Creek this weekend.
liphunter Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 Me too guys. But I'm not planning on going until Monday. I have to get my over confidence in check before the weekend of the 23rd. lol It may be a little late, but I'll let you know what I see. Mike Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???
waterpossum Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 Sons was flowing pretty muddy at the 39 bridge Tuesday evening. I'm sure it has pushed further down lake by now. The main lake by the dam was very clear Wednesday evening. Rootman and liphunter 2
Rootman Posted March 15, 2019 Author Posted March 15, 2019 I see the lake has gone up about 2 ft this week, is it muddied up some?
Members bassfisher2017 Posted March 16, 2019 Members Posted March 16, 2019 40-43 from mutton to where the timber starts in the river. 41-42 in cedar ridge area. From turkey up is dirty. Warmer 45-46 but dirty. Didn’t go past mutton on the big sac but mutton was pretty clean. Fishing was tough. Greaser is dirty and mudline starts at the mouth of greaser and heads up the creek. Managed a 4 and a 3 and a few shorts. All stacked up in a couple of areas. liphunter and Rootman 2
Rootman Posted March 16, 2019 Author Posted March 16, 2019 Put in at Roark, water was murky, 41. Fished multiple brush piles with no success. Warmest water found was 41 up by powelibe cove, water was clear. Went up to dam area, water 38 and very clear. Had no luck anywhere, not even a nibble. Hope others did better than us, very discouraging day yo say the least
liphunter Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Thanks Rootman. I understand the frustration. Going somewhere Tuesday. I think I'll expand my horizons and go south to warmer water. Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???
Rootman Posted March 17, 2019 Author Posted March 17, 2019 It will be a few weeks before I head back to lake again, warm weather will hopefully help. Am heading south myself end of month to Lake Fork in Texas. Hope to have some luck down there !
liphunter Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Great! Sounds interesting. Let us know how you did. I'm not as frustrated. I think I'll stop around Shell Knob or Cape Fair. Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???
