Problems with 1990 60 hp Evinrude 3 cyl.

Had another friend with the exact same motor with a bad stator so pulled the one off the motor that we were having troubles with and put on the other motor it fired up and ran great. So put the original stator back on the problem motor even though the potting was cracked and it fired up and ran great.
