gonefishin
I know people use gigs and archery equipment to catch bighead carp. What I want to know is if it is possible, other than the occasional accident, to catch them on rod and reel with a reasonable amount of success. If so where is a good place to catch them? I would rather be fishin'. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." snagged in outlet 3
Hey GF Check this out. http://www.ozarkchronicles.com/forum/viewt...asc&start=0 We catch em on fly rods. Nobody believes it but they take clousers. The big one of the bunch was around 3, 3 feet that is. We're going tomorrow night to a slough off the Mississippi. Common carp this time with conventional tackle. SIO3

duckydoty
Go below Alton lock and Dam. Use to catch the big heads on crappie jigs with ultra lights all the time. They are usually stacked in there and right up on the bank. You'll have a blast duckydoty A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. I was specifically thinking about the Bigheads. Ducky's right. They are stacked there now. Spring run it seems. What's up with that weird screen name Ducky? SIO3 Looks like you are having a blast SIO3 but how do you keep the Cottonseed cake bait on the flyline? Heh heh JK I was thinking more in terms of spinning tackle but fly fishing for them looks like a lot of fun. I would like to give it a try sometime. I would rather be fishin'. Terry Beeson
GF, Flies and in-line spinners are very similar for carp. Just big and wooly seems to work.
