Well it looks like they have about 4 units running, hope this cleans things up a bit, both in the lake and on this thread.

F2F,

Thanks for bringing cooler heads and reason back to this thread... Yes, I think they are just filling Taney back up, but I do hope the few units they are running will give it a nice flush...

I just got caught up on the drawdown situation... the Corp and Empire were supposed to coordinate flows to cover the upper gravel bars while the mid-lower lake was to be down. It sounds like they failed. MDC, in the past, would moderator the event. 5-6 years ago they all failed and the upper gravel bars were exposed to 90 degree heat and sun for 6 hours and we lost 60% of the scuds up there. I think it took 12 months to recover.

From what Bill told me this has happened again. Although I don't like bad PR on our fishing (business motivated), I wouldn't mind MDC, Branson, the Corp and Empire be held accountable on the front page of the paper... maybe the Old Seagull may take this up.

I'll ask MDC to see how they view the situation and report.

Its an unfortunate sign of the times, they wouldn't close 76 for a few hours in June, but they'll shutdown Taney. There was a time when Branson would have come unglued at the thought of interrupting the fishing of visitors.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

What a crazy thread this has been!! But personally I think it ALL worked out for the best. And regardless of what was said - this is the best forum going. With some great members.

My wife and I were at the Landing today and had lunch (famous Daves BBQ)outside on the patio and noticed a great continuous mass of vegetation mid-lake working it's way downstream. I guess this is what Bill was talking about? Pretty sad. I hope the lake recovers quickly and the fishing does not suffer too much. It's been so good this spring and early summer. I would like to see the MDC look into this and try to hold "someone" accountable.

We also fished for a while this afternoon and I ran into John (mr. Ducky) for a short time. The fishing was just so so (running 2 units) but I enjoyed visiting with him.

Greg I also enjoyed fishing with you and your wife today . My fishing was okay also , lots of people though . caught and landed a few , But missed a bunch more . Jeremy's egg pattern worked well for me untill i lost it!! . Rusty midge and also zebra midges about 3' deep worked well also .

After , Fishing i drove around the lake towards Forsythe , Its really sad , the lake its self looks to be in bad shape from all the moss , Now will all this moss from Taney settle at Powersite ? Or will it continue its way into bull shoals ? It sickens me .

Also i have one more thing to add . This is a great forum , We have the most caring and friendly people aboard . I find it really sad also that people get their feelings hurt from a internet forum , Guys and gals Cmon lets let the politicans argue and slam each other . Everyone is entitled to there opinnion , and if you type it here there might be a consequense . But i dont think arguing in "Type" is real grown up !!

However while fishing yesterday i did see some REALLY FAT FISH , And i hold this thread responsible for over-weight fish , FISH MORE the Taneycomo trout need a work out !!!

Yikes!!! I Hate that warning horn

Maybe its poetic justice, but from 65 it looks like the moss bed has stalled in the area above the landing.
