MoCarp Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 Sometimes it’s the little things that make a difference...when fish are biting and active many things will get you fish...it’s when it’s tough you reach into your bag of tricks split shoting or just weighting is an art form, use just enough weight to get by....better to string smaller shot than one big shot at least when the fishing is tough...once I go to 2# test tungsten paste puddy in the color of what ever conditions..IE green for weeds as an example....you can get shot in colors or do your own well worth the cost .the closer to the hook, the more your bait can swim...this can be crucial to your presentation...a string of shot smallest near the hook, heaviest to the angler, will allow your minnow to swim well at 1st then as it encounters more weight will struggle and fall back....triggering a hit.... MONKEYS? what monkeys?
MoCarp Posted December 24, 2020 Author Posted December 24, 2020 Let’s chat hooks....cam action true turn style in sizes to match quarry or baits....again color hooks make a difference, I prefer bronze or red MONKEYS? what monkeys?
MoCarp Posted December 24, 2020 Author Posted December 24, 2020 Bait....not all bait is created equal, at times crappie will shun a minnow from the same bucket....big ol male fatheads seem to put off crappie...sometimes a big shiner that’s female will get hammered though it’s work bait dye will add fish to your day...in our area chartreuse works well as does purple.....standard food color will work you can get neon and colors like purple MONKEYS? what monkeys?
MoCarp Posted December 24, 2020 Author Posted December 24, 2020 Line is important...I like camo in 4# as a starter....in a pinch 2# green MONKEYS? what monkeys?
MoCarp Posted December 24, 2020 Author Posted December 24, 2020 Colored rattle beads can be a game changer typically sold in 6mm and 8mm I have seen them in white, black, pink, chartreuse.....as a note walleyes love black rattle beads MONKEYS? what monkeys?
