Trying to decide between taking a small group on James River, Flat Creek, or the Sac. The flow chart is at the top of the forum. Personally I think it looks perfect to float. I've never been on the sac, floating anyway. I have 1 in our group that is a little inexperienced and at least with the James there is still a decent amount of water flowing from the rains we've had the last few weeks. I didn't want to put them in a position that may be less than ideal, especially without me knowing what to expect. Thanks for your response. Seth Clarkson
Just now, trythisonemv said: We are floating Friday come along . 8 at 215 Thank you for the offer. I will have either 4 in 2 kayaks and a canoe or 5 in 3 kayaks and a canoe. Would hate to put too many people in your general area. If that wouldn't bother you or us to follow along behind you I will discuss it with my other guys. trythisonemv
bwcballer10
There is a riffle or 2 that I would suggest walking your canoe/kayak through because of some hazards in the water but the flow is just about perfect right now. The riffle right after Frisco line trail, I would definitely pull onto the gravel bar on the left side of river and walk through it. It is by far the most hazardous between 215 and Taylor. trythisonemv and Seth Clarkson 1

Thanks for the heads up. I am trying to look at the put in and take out, but I'm not confidently able to determine where the Taylor bridge is. Can you help me as to where the take out is if you put in below the 215 bridge.
Seth Clarkson
Nevermind, bonehead mistake on my part. River flows North into Stockton doesn't it? Not south out of it. trythisonemv

Not south out of it. Taylor is the first big bridge below 215. Not all that far . the put in at 215 is rough. Park on east side of bridge after dropping off gear on west side. Big hill walk slowly. Dont park in the drive way just west of bridge they will get mad. About 4 hours to taylor from 215 if fishing stops are frequent. Its not a scary river at all. I think based on the fact that we have a guy out of reeds spring we will probably be going to more of a central location in James River. However, this is great in for for a future float for me. It's a lot closer from Strafford. trythisonemv
