All I can say is that I hope they migrate OUT of my neck of the woods. Some place far, South Dakota for instance.

i had just happened to make one of my occasional forays to bs during

the great migration. was amazed at all the roadkill and live squirrells seen

either crossing the road or the lake itself.we were on the east side of the lake staying at nolands point for that trip. didnt give any a ride across the lake, but did see many far from shore swimming thier little hearts out.

never seen anything like it.

I saw a bunch of tree rats getting the seeds out of pine cones in a pine plantation once. They were headed east.

I've been experiencing a bumper crop of squirrels in my neck of the woods near Clever and Republic MO. I seem to see several on the road each day. The other day, my friend drove to Republic to eat breakfast. He said he could not believe how many squrirrels he saw on the road coming back from Republic. I'm just curious how he knew those squirrels were coming from Republic. He must have seen them at the breakfast buffet.

The squirrels here at my houst are tryong to dig a hole into my atic. This is the first time they tryed to do it here at this house. Living in town I cant shoot them so I was thinging of using a live trap and moving them out in the county. Would some of you have a better idea as to how to stop them?

Buy a gallon jar of jalepenos. Use the juice to paint around where they enter your attic and where they gnaw. BTW, do this while wearing gloves and avoid you own eyes and nose. You have no idea how easy it is to casually dismiss the danger of playing in that much jalepeno juice. When you are finished with the juice, figure out who needs jalepeno jelly for Christmas.

good luck.

tree rats

Yep ! " tree rats ", good one and exactly how I refer to them. I was busy thinning out the tree rats around the deer feeder last weekend. At one point there were eight of them on the ground and on the feeder trying to chew their way in. Like the idea about the jalapeno juice, you could probably hear them screaming for water after they chew their way into that.

A way to get rid of them. You will need: 1 jar crunchy peanut butter, 1 small bowl or platform, 1 plastic bucket with a flat top, a drill and spade bit, and some crushed glass.

Crush the glass, mix well with peanut butter, place in small bowl or platform. Take large bucket and drill holes (2-4 together to make the hole big enough)in the sides to allow squirrels to enter, and place upside down over the peanut butter. You can also use a jigsaw for the holes. SECURE BUCKET TO GROUND, in a way that no pets can knock the bucket over and eat the peanut butter.

They eat the peanut butter, and die of internal bleeding. This will work for most rodents: mice, rats, and squirrels. I would only use this as a last resort if the animals are attempting to, or have, destroy expensive property (cars and houses).
