fishinwrench Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 Ok here's what I can do..... (Feel free to shop around, makes me no difference). Merc 90hp 4S $10,451.00 add 514.17 for controls, and 224.00 for cables. Merc 90 Command thrust 4S (heavier gearcase/larger prop) $10,786.00 Plus whatever prop is needed....of course. Earliest date we can have it is the last week of August 🙄 (rediculous.... but there you have it).
Members raise the motor Posted January 26, 2022 Author Members Posted January 26, 2022 My Ranger Cherokee 207 has a max HP of 120 but is commonly run on engines from 90 to 120. I rarely run full throttle and am willing to sacrifice hole speed and top speed for a quieter, lower RPM trolling speed. Yes the switch to 4 stroke is for fuel economy and idle trolling. My 115 does not seem to operate well at minimum RPM. I have a 25 Mariner 4 S on my trout boat and it will idle well at low RPM for drifting. fishinwrench 1 "God always gives His best to those who leave the choice to Him." Otto Davis
fishinwrench Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 Understood 👍 I can't knock the idle quality of a well tuned 4-stroke.
gotmuddy Posted January 27, 2022 Posted January 27, 2022 those 115 v-4s are tanks but definitely do not idle as smooth as a 4 stroke. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
