kjackson Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 Do any of you fish beads for trout? I've done it in Alaska, and it is terribly effective there when the almond are spawning. The reason I ask is that I have a ton of beads and small octopus hooks that work with them. I could use the beads as bodies on walleye spinners, but then I prefer floating bodies for spinners. grizwilson 1

jdmidwest Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 In Alaska, I pegged beads above the hook on the line. You actually snag the trout going for the egg in the mouth. In Missouri Trout areas, that would be a no no as far as a fly. There has always been some thoughts as to them being truly flies if mounted on a hook by themselves. But they will work here in unrestricted areas. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
