Members Toby Estes Posted April 21, 2022 Members Posted April 21, 2022 I have a question about the marina, I was told today that I was fishing too close to the docks and marina. I have fished by the marina for a long time and never had anyone say anything. The guy went as far to say he has a lease for the area inside the no wake buoys. That seems really crazy to me to say you can lease water on a COE lake. Can anyone share any information on these statements?
Krazo Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 wow....thats a whopper of a story. id say guy was full of it. maybe he leases a slip...maybe not. but thats about it. hope you kept on fishing.
Dutch Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 There is an area around marinas where the public is not permitted to fish. The MO Water Patrol should be able to provide clarification for you.
Ketchup Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Were there signs posted saying no fishing within designated area? Seen this below online. It is a law that on corps lakes/river that if the owner of the commercial marina chooses - they can stop all recreational swimming / fishing ect. within 50 feet of the marina structures. I believe it does state though that it has to be marked and folks will have the signs on the corners of their docks. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
Members Toby Estes Posted April 22, 2022 Author Members Posted April 22, 2022 I am aware of the no fishing around the actual marina. There were no signs on any of the docks and we were a long way from the marina. Ketchup 1
