Pepe Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 Do you folks use hair, buck-tail, marabou or preacher type jigs? I ask because making jigs & soft plastics is my winter hobby, but I don’t sell them. Dispersing some samples to other anglers who will actually use them and provide feedback is what I’m seeking. I did this type thing for skirted & Ned jigs for several years and was able to better zero in on what worked best.

Rivers are so low I probably wouldn’t pester them until we get rain. I’d be up for that especially fall through winter. PM me if you want. BilletHead 1
Al Agnew Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 I use hair jigs only in the winter. I've tried them in warm weather, but have never done well on them then, compared to some other lures I use. Hair isn't magical. It works. It is seldom NECESSARY, if ever, but sometimes it's the best choice. And different kinds of hair are called for in different situations; all hair is not equal. My winter jigs are made of rabbit strips. In warm weather I use bucktail on my homemade twin spin. And that's pretty much the extent of my hair use.
