Carl1969
Any tips or advice for fishing the Talley Bend area? Might try to get out with the missus one evening next week. Was thinking maybe cruising up to around Cedar Bluff, or maybe down a couple miles & explore that cove/inlet to the west. Hot Spots map only talks about bass in that area. Anything else interesting there? We don't really care what we catch, just wanna get out & hopefully catch something tasty for supper.
navery
Very broad, but will catch you fish. Blue cats, drift cut shad on 10-15ft ish flats Crappie will be in trees and bluffs probably 8-10ft ish down Hybrids, always moving but look for them busting top water at sunrise and sunset and throw a spook. If you know what they like on the graph you can try bouncing spoons in 10-15ft of water once you find them, but live shad is the best way to catch them in this heat. They will likely be down lake on points and humps that top out around 10-15ft. Can also throw paddle tails with 1/2 oz heads. Any color works as long as it's white or chartreuse, lol BilletHead, Carl1969 and Terrierman 2

My best quick strike rod for that is a blue chrome rattle trap, when they start busting shad get amongst them as it might not last long. Carl1969
Thanks guys. Sounds like that stretch has a good bit of timber, so I'll look for some crappie. Maybe try to find a bass or two & see how the missus likes that kinda fishing. I'll be sure to keep a "silver shad" rattle trap (only one/color I have currently) rigged up on my "big" rod & reel, just in case.
