Invasive fish removal in NE

Not sure how I feel about treating a 300 acre lake with rotenone then restock with three or four fish species. Getting rid of the invasive fish is important. However, I question what native fishes that were in the system before its impoundment that are getting dumped with the proverbial bath water? 

I also would not want to live anywhere near that lake until the smell goes away🤑
