Still hunting in weather like this used to be my thing.  I used tonstalk the woods with a black widow recurve.  Was withing 30 yards if a LOT of deer but dang drawing when there are 3 or 4 sets of eyes to spot you is tough.  Some of the most enjoyable days in the woods I have had and nothing but a big smile to show for it.

VERY WELL SAID.  I never hunted big game, but a nice fall afternoon with my back against a tree listening for squirrels in the leaves or barking in the tree.  That was peaceful.

I was setting one time it was raining and wind was blowing a little.

Why the heck am I setting here?

Got up slowly walked along a ridge.  Before long seen a tail flicker. Deer down.

Use to always hunt from the ground and did well.  Used a Recurve and old Camo and I smoked.  Shot plenty of Squirrels and Rabbits to keep my aim true.
