Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted August 17, 2007 Root Admin Share Posted August 17, 2007 If I remember right, don't you have to portage over a bridge... or under? Sounds great though- what kind did you get?
brownieman
Ok Brian, trading in the paddles for oars huh, lol. that'll be fun...i've often wondered when drifting would make it to this part of the country...been a prevalent fishing method on numerous streams for years, oh well...they don't call this the "show me state" for nuthin. good luck...that will put a little more pep in your step so to speak, ya know. bm My friends say I'm a douche bag ?? Brian Sloss
Having been guiding out of a drift boat for a number of years now, I can honestly say that the drift boat will probably be the best investment you ever make, except McKee bridge still makes me a little nervous (squeesed under it with maybe an inch to spare a couple of times). Have fun with it. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted August 17, 2007 Root Admin Share Posted August 17, 2007 That must be the bridge I'm thinking of... Good Luck!! But I think you made a good decision.
Brian Wise
Yeah, floating on semi-high water I'll have to be sure to put in below McKee and take out above Patrick...which is pretty much my main floats anyway. Lilley, We used to have to portage over Blair bridge (most of the time) before the county put in the big bridge in 2000 I think. Smooth sailing, err rowing I guess, now. It is a 16' Clacka Low Pro. Thom
Fished on the San Jaun in New Mexico lots of times in a Clacka. Lots of fun and very comfortable and stable. We put in below the dam and held and fished the hot spots then drifted down towards the end of the trip and took out past the riffles and deeper water past the camping area. Lots of fun. BrianK
Good work. Sign me up! We'll have to get together this fall. Heading to China for our adoption in 3 wks so my fishing will probably be on hold for a while.....then watch out...we'll have a little family invasion back down on the river. b
