AR Huzgr Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Got out early to see if there was any top water striper. I got one but I wouldn't say topwater was robust. More like one here one there. Got this on a pencil popper and got some smallmouth, a big white on a whopper plopper. Moved on to smallmouth, main lake structure. Ended with about 25 Smallies mostly on Ned. None too big, but a lot in that 15 inch range Foggy/cloudy with water temps about 73-74. snagged in outlet 3, Quillback and dpitt 3
Quillback Posted June 5 Posted June 5 You did better than me, I mainly went today to chase stripers, didn't see much activity, had a couple of blowups and that was it. Caught a few smallies on top, a few on jigs, totaled 10, hit the road at 1100. Tuesday one of my buddies was out and the stripers were lighting it up. He caught 7 on top waters. They turn on and off, one day good, the next bad. If you pick the right day, it's a lot of fun. Seems to be the days where it is cloudy, the bite is not good, get a sunny morning and it's good. I believe it is because the sun will bring the shad up to feed. snagged in outlet 3 and dpitt 2
