Thom Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 I am trying to get WEATHER info on the Branson area. I have 5 days scheduled (9-14)and can' t decide weather to cancel or come late. I pay a fortune for cable and the weather channel seems to be more interested in running forecasts on the east and west coast. What's up with Branson for this week. Will the shows that are left be open and the IMPORTANT QUESTION WILL THE FISHING BE WORTH THE TRIP???????? Thom Harvengt

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 9, 2007 Root Admin Posted December 9, 2007 http://www.weather.com/outlook/recreation/...topnav_outdoors Weather doesn't look that bad really- for December. 60's on Tuesday?!? Fishing is good. But it is fishing, not catching I gave one "bad" fishing report over the phone one time to a guy from Joplin- told him not to come cause it had been very bad. He came anyhow- had a great trip- called me and told me I was full of it and was NEVER coming back to the resort again cause of my inaccurate report. So... the fishing's always "good". But seriously- it has been pretty good.
bobber Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 is it ever TO BAD to go fishing? <*)))))))>< * AMERICAN CANOE ASSOCIATION CERTIFIED CANOE, and SWIFT WATER RESCUE INSTRUCTOR.*
timsfly Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 No not really ever to bad to go fishing, I just got 2 over 18" and I am just soaked to the bone, I'm in the office trying to dry off, but it was worth getting wet to catch a couple of nice fish, I'll be back as soon as I close the shop and rain or shine, or ice I'm going back and try to catch one or two more. Don't cancel your trip, fish when you can, and the fish will be there waiting, heck they don't mind the rain, why should we Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
snagged in outlet 3 Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 I wouldn't cancel any trip for weather. If you can get there safely I would go. Besides, let's say the weather is bad while you're there. It'll cut down on the crowds. How about we trade? You work all week while I go fishin. You lucky dog. SIO3 Sorry I forgot to add this. A must for us who travel for work. http://www.modot.org/ SIO3
davekeim Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Shows? What shows? They have something other than fish there? darn, whatta ya know. Fish, food, beer! Options are better than sitting at home! Signed, Cardiac Abdito! Another Beautiful Day In The Ozarks
Bman Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 I would trust the Lilley forcast for weather or fishing completely. The times that I have stayed or stopped by lilley's Phil was kind enough to pull current weather up on the internet,AND call by cell phone the guides that he knows that are on the water and get the up to the minute report from the guides themselves!Even what they are biting on. Ya can't do much better than that. Bruce Omans The only good line is a tight line

Thom Posted December 9, 2007 Author Posted December 9, 2007 Thanks everyone for your input, We had time to attend a very good Worship service this morning and sang in our Christmas presentation. The fishing there was great. God is Good! We are getting ready to head for Branson (12:00 Pm) and enjoy all the great things that are there. We should be there before dark. We look forward to seeing some of you there. Thom Harvengt
