Wayne SW/MO Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 I would like to see the MOAT. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Members King Ming Posted May 19, 2006 Members Posted May 19, 2006 How about some Warm Water Patterns? There are other fish to tie flies for other than trout. Here are some suggested species to see some productive patterns for: * Muskie, Chain & Grass Pickerel, Walleye * Smallmouth, Largemouth, & Spotted Bass * Crappie, Bluegill, Redear Sunfish, Goggle Eye & such * White Bass, Hybrids, & Stripers * Carp, Catfish, & Suckers

Snow Fly Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I have heard of a fly called the "Crack Trout" has anyone else heard of this fly? If so what is the recipe? "God gave fishermen expectancy, so they would never tire of throwing out a line"
Danoinark Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Trout Crack is right here on this forum at http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=559 Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
jOrOb Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 the G-Bug is kind of an untouchable since the originator has never published the pattern, so noone seems willing to publish it either. But it isn't hard to duplicate. The ribbing is Ostrich, and you should have no difficulty with the rest. Have a look at it here: http://www.charteredwaters.com/hotflies.html jOrOb "The Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he has been particularly good to me." Rev MacLean
Seth Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Hmm i thought there was copper wire for ribbing on that G-Bug. I have been putting copper wire over my ostrich herl but I guess I will stop doing that. I guess I shouldn't ask for a pattern that hasnt been published, I dont want to upset Brett, he is one of heck of a trout fisherman and guide.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 6, 2006 Author Root Admin Posted June 6, 2006 What does it mean to be "published"? I thought it may be when someone submits a pattern to a fly company like Umpqua and they label it, make it and sell it. Example- John Wilson and trout crack. Until a pattern is recognized by an official entity, it's just another pattern. If Bret doesn't hurry up, someone else it going to beat him to it.
