Bill Anderson Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 I call it "hackle harvesting". When I lived on that lake, I also had a very bad beaver problem. I managed to kill 14 adult beavers too, and I had more beaver fur than Wapsi. Beavers and squirrels are both rodents, both edible, and both produce fine fly tying materials. Both species are also very prolific. So I never had any "guilt" about putting the crosshairs on them and pulling the trigger. My neighbors and I lost thousands of dollars worth of valuable trees to those furry chainsaws. I have a friend, a Jewish carpenter, whom you should get to know. If you do, your life will never be the same.
