I racked up 2600 hours on the upper end this year. Would love to try and rack up that many on the lower end but just dont have a clue on where to even begin fishing down there. Other than that, I find this whole thing rather entertaining. As long as all fish are caught in the mouth---Its a good catch that is photo worthy

Trav,

I don't doubt that you catch huge fish, and are probably better than anyone at fishing lower Taney. I will state this forum has helped my fishing abilities by giving me tips and tricks to make me a better trout fisherman. Telling me about all the big fish you catch does nothing for my fishing abilities. Many guys on this forum have given their secrets, met up with other forum members and fished with them, put recipes/techniques on here to help other forum members. I haven't noticed you doing that. Maybe I missed some of your helpful posts. I'm not saying you have to be helpful, just dont slam those members that are helpful. Alot of guys on here have ego's but some stoop down and help us beginners start the climb up to their level. I can overlook ego when the person is willing to help me become a better fisherman. You are who you are, not asking you to change, this is just my observation.

ok heres a question if i have some flies that i have just made up not even knowing what they are and i take these flies to tany and they happen to work what should i do

a)make sure i go go through the thousands of flies to make sure that it hasent already been NAMED and to make sure that i call the original tier and give him his royalities

b)go abut my day of fishing as i would normlly and if someone asks me "what are you useing" say i dont know i just made it up

C)go about my day slaughtering the dinks and haveing a blast calling my new favorite fly the "zebra soggyfoot"

d)sit on the other bank and make fun of how small all the other fish being caught are

My mammy always said to stir the pot.

Following is a quote form this "Lake Tanycomo" forum subject: Trout Tournaments, 2008.....

So sayeth Trav......

"Also, I have a question.

What if I prefer to fish alone?

I mean, I am not much of a team player. I like to fish where I want with no debate. Partners cramp my style.

I am curious about this stipulation. The tourney wont pay enough to have to show somebody else my tactics in order to compete."

Ok heres the deal how many of us out here have never heard of a crackle back well there you go thats the TNS or thats what I was showed one night. As far as the PMS maybe he never seen one befor But I do know for a fact that he has seen one since he started with whole secert fly bit. Makes me no Diffrence but I know what the truth is and I hope that someday he wil start telling the truth.

I like what some one else just said as long as fish are caught in the mouth who care where it is up or down river.

Contrary to the to popular belief, I have consistantly offered tips and advice. Maybe you should read some of my previous posts. As did Hammer.

I even state in my reports, the area of the lake I had fished and many times state what I used.

Granted, I am not gonna put my most cherished applications on a public forum, but I do give generic outlines of how to approach the Lower Lake.

Anyone else remember the days when fishing was fun? In a group, solo, talking to strangers, making a new friend, learning a new trick, sharing a story, having a laugh? We were all outside weren't we? This "magic box" has corrupted us all....

Now let's all play nice and get back on the water.... where we all long to be....

Everyone here is great in their own way.... now let's move on to the fish speak.
