Members Leg Buster Posted January 25, 2008 Author Members Posted January 25, 2008 dang people, i was just trying to make a fishing report. I am kinda new to this forum. so i am not real sure who trav is and really i don't care. i would appreciate it though if he has something negative to say that he just keep it to himself. any how for my two cents on this thing, leonard is probably the best and that nicest FISHERMAN i know of. he sent seth and i thousands of flies. and as far as i can tell they have all worked. below and up by the dam. i don't know just how good ol' trav is but i could garuntee leonard could fish circles around him on any part of the lake. your fishing buddy Philip
Members Leg Buster Posted January 25, 2008 Author Members Posted January 25, 2008 oh yeah and the guy that said the fish in the pics probably weren't over six pounds or whatever. i know for fish that the bottom one is 28" long and seventeen pounds. take it how you want.
jjtroutbum Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 WOW I don't follow a post for a couple of Day and BAM the shack nasties come from no where. Go fishin, tie flies, or blow a few dozen rounds out of the old pistol. But don't come on here with a holyier than tho attitude because there ain't a one of us that is. This place is to good and normally well natured for that kinda stuff. Unlike the rest of the Web in general. Heres my to cents. Its really easy to claim things or flame someone online when you hide behind a screen name. It's completely another thing to tell the whole WWW exactly who you are last name and all. In the open and where you live so others can decide exactly who you are. Too me the later is who I choose to believe is the more trustworthy individual. Leonard my friend. I wouldn't sink to the level of some of these semi anonymous posters either! If I was in your position and I for one am glad you didn't reply further. Please keep helping all of us catch fish with you reports, PICS, and in person. It ain't catchin its just fishin ya'all. Trav Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 For the record, I wasnt disrespecting anyone. All I did is make a suggestion. I even confirmed what Leonard stated by saying there is big fish everywhere. I stand on my opinion that the fish he posted was less than 6 pounds. The idea of a 17 pound fish at 28" is comical. Plus I catch fish that size all the time. Just read my reports. I may be a bit on the deign side but I curb my language and discontent as to not come across as so ascertain. After all we are talking about fishing wich is a sport subject to credibility. But like politics, you cant please everyone. All I can say is that I carry a high level of integrity and can see through the fog of delusion. Call it a big ego, I dont deny it. I also know that I am good at what I do. I am the best on lower Taney. No bones about it. If my confidence seems to much like belligerence you can add my name to the list of the following who tend to be the subject of similar controversy. Sean Penn, Charles Barkley, Terrell Owens, Mike Iaconelli, Muhammad Ali, Dennis Leary, Dennis Miller, Chad Johnson, Michael Strahan, Rush Limbaugh, Stephen Colbert, Tom Cruise, Howard Cosell, Bono, Alfred Hitchcock, Orsen Welles, Salvador Dali, Madonna, Jon Rocker, Allen Iverson, Adolph Hitler, David Duke, Goerge Steinbrenner, Donald Trump, Phil Mickelson, Bonzi Wells, Kobe Bryant, Curt Schilling, Kurt Busch, Barry Bonds, Saddam Hussein, Jerry Jones, John Madden, Bobby Knight, Jim Rome, Don King, OJ Simpson, Bill Clinton, and his wife Fidel Castro, All the Kennedys, Burt Reynolds Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Hugo Chavez, Charles Manson, Paris Hilton, George Bush, Dick Cheney, Joe Namath, Deoin Sanders, Joe Frazier, Timothy Leary, John Lennon, Spike Lee, The good the bad and the ugly. If I missed someone let me know. But I am not alone with my indoctrine that I am the best at what I do and wont concede to a bunch of guys who cant read a sonar graph and tell me the difference between a rock and a log. stone9-7=2 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Sad,sad, sad that this turned in to what it has.
brownieman Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 This is getting downright hilarious, lmao. Myself, I would rather see a friend catch a big one than myself...some are not so fortunate to spend much time on the water...I've caught my share but enjoy and on many occasions over the years have helped freinds, new or old, catch the fish of a lifetime...just watching their reaction and the satisfaction of knowing I helped give them a great memory is much more satisfying to me than catching the fish myself, but hey, that's just me...to each their own. bm My friends say I'm a douche bag ?? vanven Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Amazing how quickly this post grew and also how quickly it deteriorated. Like DuckyDoty I blame the weather. This isnt the first post like this over the past couple years and in a sport where most anglers compare their success based upon their peers it wont be the last. From my perspective, I have formed various perceptions of posters bassed on their fishing reports, bad grammar, poor spelling, and writing style. Most of the time those went out the door, and in most cases were clearly disproven, the first opportunity I had to shake their hand and chit chat over something we all enjoy. This forum is a place to share information, stories, laughs, and hard earned knowledge. Most of us are just selfish enough to hope to improve our fishing skills, not necessarily grow our e-peen. -jerod
TroutBum4wt Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Well said Jerod. I agree 100 percent, but a pointless agrument or childish self promotion is always a good read when it's sooo cold outside and cabin fever is high. Cheers!! "Where There Are Trout, There's Hope" - John Gierach
