Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 2, 2008 Root Admin Posted February 2, 2008 This may be taken as a post to prove my point about tournaments... it really isn't. I wanted to see for myself how crowded the boats were at least above our place on a tournament day. From Lilleys to Short Creek - 5 boats Short to Fall Creek - 13 boats Fall Creek to Lookout - 5 boats Count was taken about 1 p.m. Will take a count for the next couple of Saturdays and see what the difference is, if any. Two weeks from today, though, is a holiday weekend.
Trav Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Tourney or not, that is still alot of boats in a relitively small area. Of course, My idea of alot of boats is when the sound of outboards never stop. Haha, Might be a need for some merging lanes and/or possibly a traffic cop up there. Some guy from India might set up a mini-mart. Take advantage of supply and demand issues. Haha "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
snagged in outlet 3 Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Were they generating Phil? And, would that make a difference? SIO3
Forsythian Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 They did not generate yesterday... but the nice weather brought out the hordes. While that seems like alot of boats, it would be interesting to do a head count of boating fishermen from Lilley's to Lookout vs. wading fishermen from the MDC ramp to the cable... I showed up at Rocking Chair about 4:00, my guess would be about 5 thousand people wading! Cenosillicaphobiac
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 3, 2008 Author Root Admin Posted February 3, 2008 Note: We had 41 boats in the tournament yesterday. From experience, the boat count was way less than I expected. 13 boats between Short and Fall is nothing for a Saturday. Five above Fall Creek- super light but not as unusual as 13 below. We'll see what the count is next Saturday.
Members alletec Posted February 4, 2008 Members Posted February 4, 2008 I fished the Masters and we fished below fall creek. We were just below fall creek all day and we had about 10 boats at the most that we could see at one time. No one got in any one's way. With no water running it was no problem at all. Jeff Alley

I picked a good time to be there during the SB pregame.... Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"

Dano Yeah, I generally don't go unless it's frigid or raining or some other calamity is present to keep the mass of humanity away... I'm not what you'd call a real "people-person" Cenosillicaphobiac
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 9, 2008 Author Root Admin Posted February 9, 2008 Boat count today - noon 18 boats from Lookout to Fall creek 18 boats from Fall Creek to Short Creek 18 boats from Short to Lilleys Compare to last Saturday (tournament day) 5 boats from Fall Creek to Lookout 13 boats from Short to Fall Creek 5 boats from Lilleys to Short Creek
