DOITLOOKIT Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 I'll bet the terrorist would get a real sense of success with some of these comments. Lets keep the American resourses fighting over here. Keep them near our Jihad. Studing history this has always been a successful stradegy. Napolean, the Roman empire, Great Britian, Spain, Germany, Japan to name a few extended their empires until they were spread so thin that they were bankrupted and defeated. I am not an isolationist but we are never going to convert muslim countries into democracies. Hamas won the popular election. How smart was that. Democracy? NOT>just terriorism under another name. Lets invest the Billions soon to be trillions into border security, technological survalence of the airspace, oceans, and borders, and a strong air defense that can bomb anyone into oblivion anyone who breaches our great American society. Even the current administration now admits that Sadaam had absolutely no chance of doing anything but running his mouth and had "0" to do with 9/11. The mission accomplished fiasco still rings hollow. You can hide but you can escape, Then why aren't we concentating on Afganastan where the leader is. I promised my self I would stay out of these political arguments and concentrate of tying flies and fishing, but I just couldn't resist. BTW Trav: The 9/11 tradegy didn't occur under the Clinton administrartion. At least Harry Truman had the guts to say the buck stop stops here. If things were so bad why didn't the reigning administration straighten them up. Read the 9/11 report and you will find the answer and it wasn't all Clinton. That is why it was supressed for so long. Thom, Your views and mine are remarkable similiar. I have included as an attachment a letter to the editor I wrote to the Springfield Newsleader right after the 2004 election.

Don Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 As W said before "Strategery" is important. I, for the first time voted for the person I thought could win the election instead of following my personal convictions. I voted McCain but I will definately support Huckabee if necessary. By the way, I''m what's known as a conservative independent. Polls show that Mcain would beat Hillary in General election. Polls also show that McCain would lose to Obama in general election. There are too many independents out there that would sway more to Obama than the Republican candidate. My personal strategy would have been to vote Hillary on Dems inn the primary and have a better chance for conservatives to take the general election. Don May Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
jjtroutbum Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Choosing the lesser of two evils is still a choice for evil. We need one two or ten new political parties. Then like in America there would be plenty of other choices rather than two teams playing the same game. Trav Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Solid points Thom I for one agree with the comment on staying out of political conversations. But after all, I was asked about it. Haha, Give me a stoop to stand on and I will step up. Good or bad. Wink "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
