  1. Three weeks ago, my wife had taken her parents dogs to the vet. She came home all excited because the clinic had a Cairn Terrier puppy they were going to give to a good home. We loaded up and went back to the clinic so all of us could make a sound decision whether it should come home with us. Immediately, I was in the minority, and the puppy (Belle) came home with us. This is when all the trouble started, to make a long, sad story short, the puppy became very ill and had to be put down. After being gone all last week, I have had time to think about the impression the puppy had on my family, including myself, I decided to locate another one. I need to locate someone that sells Cairn Terrier puppyies. So if anyone has any leads please reply to this topic via PM's with names and phone numbers. Any place within 150 miles of NE Oklahoma will be great. Thanks in advance for all the leads.
  2. I tried Firefox for a while and started having some PC issues. I deleted the program as a possible problem and it fixed my issues. I am going to try Outlook Express in the near future.
  3. What I was told about Plasma vs. LCD was, Plasma is good in a bright room. LCD is good in a darker room. No explanation other than that. I am sure it is up, but I have been out of pocket all week. I just returned an hour ago. I did notice that the Spring River had been out of its bank. I haven't seen in this particular pasture in 8 yrs. It is about in its banks though. I was leaning torward a Sharp at first, but while I was looking at them a guy told me that the sharpness/clarity was better because of an added gizmo in the guts of the panel. Something else to go out if it ever does. He suggested a Samsung. Haven't had a chance to look at them, maybe this weekend.
  4. I am in the market for a new TV. I have narrowed it down to the type of TV above. What I am having trouble doing now is, deciding which brand to purchase. I want to stay in the 45"+ range for personal reasons. I have spent many a hour searching online and viewing them in stores, but I can not seem to be able to place one at the top of the list. I want the best bang for the buck, I don't want to refinance the house for this purchase. 1080P, at least 2-3 HDMI jacks, HDMI upgraded version 1.3, built-in dual tuner for analog and HiDef. And all the usual bells and whistles. Does anyone know anything about Blue Ray, and HDDVD? This is something I overheard while looking at TV's.
  5. How can a ISP sale advertising space on your email page, when you are paying said ISP to provide eamil? I sent them a email telling them my displeasure of this new BS, and their reply was...So they can provide superior world wide service. I don't care about world wide service, all I care about is ME. I am after all, paying a premium price for their service. I don't want to see flashing ads when I look at my email page. Can they do this after you have been in a contract with them? Shouldn't you be able to have a say what is on your home email page? Now that I have vented a little, I am going to start another thread on LCD flat panel TV's.
  6. "Mission Statement for the MO-DNR The mission of the Soil and Water Conservation Program is to administer the policies and general programs developed by the Soil and Water Districts Commission for the saving of Missouri soil and water through the soil and water conservation districts in their work with landowners. Please accept our invitation to let the Soil and Water Conservation Program help you to understand about soil erosion control. This home page will help you to find out more about the services available to help you protect the environment. Please let us know if you have any questions or if you have any ideas about how we can better work together." Notice that they work with the landowners and not with the general public. In other words, they won't do anything until a complaint is filed. What good is a program if they are not pro-active. Who are the people who write the policies for DNR? Politicians, farmers, contractors? I am going to research this and could really use some help on this matter. Lets not argue about who's right or wrong, lets try to figure out what we (the general public) can do to rewrite the policies. If that is even possible. Crippled Caddis, you help here will be appreciated. This is a spinoff of the topic I started about the Spring River E-coli topic. All state DNR's are under this topic, not just Missouri.
  7. Either one will work fine drew.
  8. It's easy to do jd. I have done it before on another topic.
  9. Thats an interesting take on it Terry. What would be a more important thing to be concerned about? If we try to curb the smaller issues, then maybe the larger ones wouldn't happen. The topic wasn't started to hype or minimalize the situation. Just trying to let as many people out there know whats going on.
  10. Careful TB, lets not start a fight on this thread. haahahah
  11. Are you refering to snaglet number two, I mean outlet two? I move around, but I am not a pro by any means. Just out to have a great time, is all. When I first started out fishing Taney, I stayed in one area most of the time. Increases your odds on catching fish I think. But I tend to site fish now.
  12. That is a great accomplishment Zach. Let me guess, you did that with the 6'6" Eagleclaw Featherweight with a #22 dry fly. lol
  13. Sorry to hear that Bill. I heard a rumor the other day, that MDC is going to rename Taneycomo to Branson Landing, "where we can do no wrong".

  15. 2.23 inches since Friday morning. It is raining like crazy right now, and should add another half to three quarters to that total. We were supposed to have two makeup softball games today, but it looks as though those will have to be made up at a latter date.
  16. What a beautiful area you are in. I hear that when you cut those lampreys up in 1/4 slices and deep fry it, that it taste like calamari. I can only imagine wht its like to NOT be able to run to the local HD or Lowe's to get you building supplies. Waiting on a boat to bring supplies, sounds like a Twilight Zone episode.
  17. I wonder whats worse...leopards or crabs?
  18. Oh, Oh, Oh...I know, I know...could it be the same reason I know?

  20. Interesting background on that guy, thanks. And people wonder how this stuff gets dumped.
  21. I will NEVER return to that lake. It's a accident waiting to happen.
  22. Don't crucify me, I have a honest question. Would this effort help on the prevention of the spread of Zebra mussels? A serious question, so don't start calling me names. Is this effort only to raise money? Will the money be used for more enforcement to prevent ballast dumps? The reason I ask, years ago I had the greatest time snorkeling in an area where many tourist boats were located. One of the larger boats pulls up within 100 yards of us and dumps the waste out. It looked like a porta-potty had exploded. Needless to say, I payed a price to do this and only snorkeled for 20 minutes. Now if would stop this, then I can see why it would be important to have such laws passed. Are they positive that it will affect all boats?
