  1. Went S&S. Drifted the trophy area using fly rods and spinning gear. Used float and jig with sculpin color doing the best. White also produced some fish as well as did an egg and scud combo. Numbers for us were not high, but quality was very good with most fish in the 15-18 range and very feisty. Had a great time and enjoyed the weather and my sons company. Thanks to the manager at Fall Creek marina for allowing an emergency bathroom stop. Stayed at Trout Hollow and the service was good. Lilleys was full. Saw they were working on the ramp by TH, that will be nice.
  2. Coming to Taney this weekend. Does it look like they will put lake back to normal by then?

    Help

Put in at masters and fished all the brush piles I know and caught 5 keeper crappie. Jigged points for walleye and trolled flats and points, caught three shorts. Is it just me? Are any of you guys getting into to them. No one I talk to on the lake or at the ramp is doing any better. Just curious.
  4. I was at Ceder Ridge three days last week and there were plenty of non campers using the ramp. Walleye fishing around that are was poor for us last week, crappie fair on minnows 18-20 in brush, but not all brush.
  5. Pomme has many large cove that would be suitable for fishing from a Kayak. One in particular that comes to mind on the Lindley arm is Mill Creek cove. There is a gravel boat ramp and parking area on Lake road 64-48 just outside of Pittsburg Mo. It is a large cove, usually wind free and has good timber, deep an shallow banks and good structure. It holds all the species, although I never caught many white bass in it. Spinner baits or poppers would be my choices.
  6. Took my fishing buddy out for a trip for his 89th birthday. Boy, the crappie did not cooperate today. Put in a Nemo and fished fairly deep around stumps, trees and brushpiles. Only caught two keepers. Talked to the fish counter, he said he went out early and had the same luck.
  7. Put in at Nemo and fished timber in 10-20 ft range. Used jigs tipped with minnows. Caught 11 keepers some small ones and one 14" bass. Saw a lot of shad and a lot of gar.
  8. Put in at Masters and fished brush piles 20-25'. Only found one with active fish, caught 7 nice keepers. Really a light bite. Caught them on jigs tipped with real tiny minnows. State Park marina had no minnows and the only place in bolivar has about 1" minnows. Fished a few points with jig/crawler combo and caught one short walleye. Caught a few bass and my mandatory drum.
  9. Just google "slow death rigs or hooks" and there should be plenty of stuff showing how to rig them up. BP has the bandits and the slow death hooks or go on line and they are easy to find at a variety of sources. Everharts probably has the bandits, but I doubt they have the slow death hooks, but they might. Good Luck.
  10. How deep do those bandits go?
  11. Went last friday and put in at high point, fished timber in 14-16 ft. Only limited success, enough for dinner. Are they on the deeper brush piles or just not biting?
  12. Put in at Masters, trolled points, flats and steep banks 14-25' with lead core line and flicker shads. Caught a little bit of everything but not many of any one kind. Caught channel cat, white bass, bass, crappie, drum and bluegill. Any ideas on crappie? They aren't in any of my usual brush piles.
  13. My dad lived on Pomme for 30 years. It was always our understanding that once an access was made to the lake across corp land is was open to public use.
  14. When the crappie are suspended in 30-40 ft. of water, how deep are you trolling your crankbaits? Are you just using mono or lead line or bottom bouncers with the crank baits? We caught a few noce crappie today in brush, 30 ft. deep. Couldn't find the walleye to save my soul. Any info on the walleye would be appreciated.
