  1. So where are we supposed to be getting all the uranium etc. to power these nuclear plants? Right now it looks as if Kazakhstan is the worlds leader in uranium mining. That again is in the same region in which we are currently fighting a war for oil and gas. Shall we continue our wars for energy or should we find alternative sources we can produce right here in the USA?
  2. What? Should I only show quotes from the right to make you happy? I didn't quote the oil spill in '79. That was "Bassfly" and it sounds more like he's on your side of this issue.
  3. Good luck. I tried patching a pin hole leak in a pair of neoprenes with a patch that was about 3x4 and they still leaked. I used plenty of goo on them too. That alone should have stopped the leak but it did not.
  4. Then I am wasting my time.
  5. Then I guess they just didn't build them good enough. Are the newer models really any better? Gonna last any longer? I doubt it.
  6. I'm surprised this yahoo had the cajones to put that on the web. I guess that's what that hillbilly meth does to ya.
  7. No we didn't put a stop to it and we still haven't put a stop to nuclear power plants. So when do you figure we'll have another nuclear power plant meltdown? According to your philosophy here, it's gonna happen.
  8. From Wiki: Various countries around the world started to recover from the Great Depression at different times. In most countries of the world, recovery from the Great Depression began in 1933. In the U.S., recovery began in the spring of 1933. However, the U.S. did not return to 1929 GNP for over a decade and still had an unemployment rate of about 15% in 1940, albeit down from the high of 25% in 1933. There is no consensus among economists regarding the motive force for the U.S. economic expansion that continued through most of the Roosevelt years (and the 1937 recession that interrupted it). The common view among mainstream economists is that Roosevelt's New Deal policies either caused or accelerated the recovery, although his policies were never aggressive enough to bring the economy completely out of recession. Some economists have also called attention to the positive effects from expectations of reflation and rising nominal interest rates that Roosevelt's words and actions portended. However, opposition from the new Conservative Coalition caused a rollback of the New Deal policies in early 1937, which caused a setback in the recovery.
  9. No thanks to Herbert Hoover ®
  10. Ain't that kinda like what happened here in the good 'ol USA when they signed the Patriot Act? Hmmm.... Maybe Bush was a communist.
  11. My boat never took on much water and I always parked it in the garage, so I just left the drain plug in all the time. But I've seen enough guys forget it. And learning to back a boat trailer. Really sucks when some jack*** is hogging up the launch cuz he can't back a trailer to save his own ***.
  12. The most important thing that nobody mentioned is "Don't Forget The Drain Plug!!!"
  13. I recently purchased a Rising Lippa 4 Life Special Blend tool at the local fly shop for about $35. A lot cheaper than the Boga Grip although they do have aluminium models for about $100.
  14. This is another reason it is always a good idea to wear impact resistant glasses at all times when fishing. You might be able to drive yourself to the hospital with a hook in your scrotum, but try it with a hook in your eye.
  15. Here's a pic of my brother shoveling out the snowblower that got stuck in the snow back in WI. Let's see your snow pics.
  16. People keep complaining about the money that the government spends on alternative fuel sources, but seem to be ok with the BILLIONS they give to the already BILLIONAIRE oil companies every year so they can still overcharge at the pump.
  17. Either way, the name of this person/company should be mentioned to steer the rest of us clear.
  18. Russia is no longer communist.
  19. Most software has a "Resize" button that will allow you to rersize in pixels, inches or centimeters. Then you have to save it. What program are you using?
  20. You ever watch that tv show called "V"?
  21. Maybe that's why they don't make shoes for them?
  22. "I don't know, how many?" "Well it could, as long as you charge it on sunny windy days. What do we do for electricity at night? Do we have to pay to maintain other forms of generation for night use, or is there some plan I've missed? " .......................................................... I don't know either but I do know it's a step in the right direction. The energy stored in electric cars is DC batteries. You can run a windmill or collect from a solar panel and store it in the batteries. Ain't gotta worry about night time wind or light.
  23. Doesn't anybody have a photo editor to reduce the size of the pics they post here? I'm sorry, I can't afford one of them 6 foot wide screen monitors.
  24. I eat meat and veggies. Kinda go good together. Hamburgers with corn on the cob. Weiners with beans. Steak and potatoes.
