Glad to hear that kayak was found. If it wasn't posted on this forum, it probably would never have made it back to it's proper owner. Bunch of great people out here on this forum to keep an eye out for it and be honest enough to return it.

Yes, they are caused by a vortex in wind currents. Dirt devils are over dry land, water withces are over water. Google "dust devil."

Ever been driving through open areas like Oklahoma, Texas or even the desert in Arizona, and see a Dirt Devil? A water witch is the same thing, only water. Miniature tornadoes that start from the ground and only grow to about 5' in height.

What kind of rig you using to catch them? Crawlers? Shiners? Can't find leeches around here.

Sounds like you're too rough on your TFO rods. What kind of warranty do they come with? Ever think of sending them back for repairs? I broke my St. Croix Avid series 9' 5wt 4pc and it cost me all of $40 to send it to them and send it back. Shipping is all I had to pay for.

The light never shined on it, just in it's direction. I didn't get a chance to see exactly what it was.

If it was a beaver that I had an encounter with, that was the biggest beaver ever. Thing had to weigh at least 400 pounds. What I saw was at least 50 yards out and was a large hump. I don't think a beaver would have been all that visible at night that far out. Nor did it sound like a beaver tail splashing the water. It sounded more like a diver hitting the water after jumping off the board. Just a splash. Not a smack like a beaver would make. So sorry guys, I'm sticking to the bear theory.

Way too darn big for a beaver. I believe the posibility of a bear. More to the size.

Several years ago, I was catfishing one night at Pigeon Creek area of Lake Norfork. Sitting on the tailgate of my truck, I seen something huge swimming across the lake. I grabbed my spotlight and shined it toward what I saw. KERPLOOSH!! What ever it was made a BIG splash as it went underwater. A while later, whatever it was, I could hear it walking up the bank about a hundred yards or so away from me. Grabbed the spotlight again and shined it in that direction. Couldn't see dung except the trees. To this day, I still don't know what it was. I mentioned it to my dad at the time, and he suggested maybe a bear. I still think about that whenever I go night fishing there.

1) Paddle upstream and float back down. 2) Go with a buddy and park one car upstream and 1 down. 3) Float downstream and paddle like hell getting back upstream at the end of the day. 4) Pay for shuttle service.

So where are we gonna go? Eleven Point?
