  1. well heck. I have several rods at the crib that meet that category already. Braid will come in handy around grass. I rarely get to fish places with grass, but I do. I was think something a little less than XF to help the rod load and pitch a little better. I would think with the braid punching set ups you would want a more moderate rod speed. I will want a new reel. maybe a beefy daiwa or shimano is in my future down the line. 17 lb fluro or 20 lb co-poly for the first go round of playing.
  2. I use line from 6-10 lb on spinning reels so that's all good. I really struggle to walk the dog with spinning. At this point, walking the dog is second nature for me with a bait caster. Sorry I misunderstood.
  3. Why 8 lb XL? I throw 12-15 lb on baitcasters on creeks. I don't see an advantage to the 8 lb line on baitcasters. I'm not concerned about line slap. at all. Maybe others are.
  4. without a doubt, the worst split rings I've ever seen on a lure. At this point, I swap them out before I ever cast a WP.
  5. I feel a trip to Kansas coming on.

    Just funny stuff

I can think of several things that would cheer me up a lot more than starting a fire. Legal between consenting adults as well.

on a positive note, orange is a good color on her.
  8. you'll get nothing and like it.
  9. Text me CC and tell me what you want.
  10. No clue. I'm not on a lake these days. Creeks and rivers until October/November.
  11. Beetle Spin without the spinner.
  12. Heck Man, if I lived closer I would just buy you a few to try.
  13. Hey Griz, I'll run you a hose, but you'll have to hang onto your poop. I'll let you in the house to potty and shower. We have a fire pit you are welcome to use. I'll try to have seasoned fire wood on hand for you. Ham ps : close to White River and Crooked Creek.
  14. Wow John that's really awful.
  15. Hey Mike, I hope it works out for you, but I wouldn't even get that you would be free of that scourge at 3 in the morning.
  16. The recent change in pool level for Bull Shoals makes water in the bushes a full time proposition. I believe flipping jigs or soft plastics into the bushes for these fish will be a good option. I want to acquire a good combo for flipping and pitching. I have a bunch of MH rods already and it may be that I have a good fishing rod at the house already. I use to make do with others. I imagine some of the time I will be using fluro/ co-poly, but some of the time I will be using braid. I would imagine I want the rod to be at least 7 foot long. I would also imagine I want a higher speed reel. I'm looking for persuasive arguments for rod length/ action. I little slower rod might pitch a little better. I'm hoping to get some very specific reel recommendations as well.
  17. I don't think you can ever count on no water skiers or jet skiers on Table Rock after 6/1 until about 9/7.
  18. Still waiting on that full write up. Busy I guess.
  19. No worries Jim. Good Luck! I hope you catch a bunch.
  20. My wife and I keep toying with the idea of buying a trailer. So far we have not. She loves the look of the smaller Airstreams (< 25 foot). I'm not sure that we will ever get one, but I am having 50 amp electric service put in next to my boat barn in case friends or family want to visit with a camper and plug in.
  21. My advice is to not worry about them. You are going to lose some lures. More if you fish the upper lake. a lot less on the lower end, but there are Zebra mussels spread all over the lake. I fished the upper third of the lake during April. Zebra mussels where everywhere you looked. I think I got broken off 3 or 4 times over the course of the day. I think I caught about 30 bass. So yeah, its a problem, but not a deal breaker.
  22. I think Mojo Rig said they had been found > 40 FOW
  23. I'm tipping jigs with Gulp or Road Runner heads with Gulp. I'm not trolling them or fishing them in place of live bait.
  24. I fink it covers you for all the COE lakes, but a call to a COE office answers that question.
  25. I absolutely believe Power Bait and Gulp work for panfish and catfish. I think they work for walleye. I am uncertain about bass, but at worst it is not a negative for bass. I used the old, old, old product Berkley Strike. I would apply it to panfish jigs. You got bit immediately, but it did not stay on bait long at all. FWIW, I absolutely hate the smell of Gulp Alive. It's a messy product and hard not to have it spill, but it works. Kick N Bass smells so bad that I don't care if it catches fish or not. I refuse to use it. I threw what I bought into the garbage after using it one time. Awful.
