I'd be curious to know where they shocked on BSL. I have no idea how they missed all the freaking smallies I was catching. They were the predominant species for me from April on. I was very surprized, but I'm not complaining.

It's a odd situation. They soear fish walleye and they're paranoid about giving up locations. They won't tell me where they've seen the zebra mussels (Lol) just that they've seen them and that there are a lot more this year than last year. I'm hoping AGFC will stock a crap tonne of Redear Sunfish to try to stem the tide.

Lots of easy to find studies on the internet looking back retrospectively at deaths from snakebite in the US. For decades, the average number of deaths from snakebite has been around 10 per year. The deaths from bee or wasp sting is around 100 a year. IF you get envemonated by a copperhead, cottonmouth, or rattlesnake, it's gonna suck. It's going to take weeks to fully recover. You need to seek medical attention, but in all but a handful of cases a year, you will survive.

Sounds like you're doing pretty well to me, but I just can't justify the gas to trailer there for a few hours of fishing.

Good stuff man. From what level of hell, did that pig come from? Not to be critical, but I learned the hard way a long time ago to never leave a food cooler without a tight bungee cord locking it down. Coons can play hell with your food as well.

I have a GL2 SR720 from back when they had SJR. Nowadays, I don't see the SJR offered anymore. Your SR720's MUST be very different from the one I have. There is simply no way that any human is considering a rod like mine too fast. It is horse and buggy slow. Which is of course very disappointing to me anyways. If we e VEr meet JP, bring that too fast SJR 720 and compare it to the SR720 I have. Heck maybe we can do some horse trading.

Well yeah. The SR series of rods are WAY too slow in my opinion.I'm amazed you're able to feel any bites at all. I've got a SR720. I only throw spoons and inline spinners on it. S-L-O-W. I'd love to try a SJR and see if it is any better.

I'm in agreement with Rick. I love Shimano rods and baitcasters, but I'm more than done buying their spinning reels. They may eventually fix their problem, but they lost me as a spinning reel customer forever.

Nope. Heck, I hardly need bait casting anymore. It seems like all I throw is Ned Rig for warm water fish and Zig Jigs for cold water fish. Lol

I love my yak for the easy ability to get it in and out of the water and the shallow water capability. I also enjoy the simplicity of not having to worry about electic and gas motors. me & boat & paddle.

Humor me for a little bit, so we have The White River JIg Fest deal in December (or there abouts). Can we get a crew up to make a salt water kayak fishing trip? I NEED TO GET SALTY. I have the yak and I'm willing to travel, but I much rather do it as a small group deal rather than solo. Anybody interested?

Ok then, I'll head over to the Spring river and fish from Spring River Oaks down to 9 mile road and I'll catch and photograph one. What's in the Current River System? What's in Bryant Creek? Gasconade? Niangua?

Nah Man, i haven't looked into any Master Angler Award stuff. I'm just trying to ascertain IF I likely have caught a Shadow Bass. I think I have, but I'm hoping you guys would chime in and argue one way or the other.

Oh Heck Man, I'm NOT done fishing for 3 months! I do my best to fish every week. I'm done with BSL. TR, and Norfork unti the lakes cool in the fall and the fish respond to that.

So I looked into descriptions of Shadow Bass again. I wanted to have a better idea of what I'm looking for and where I could go fish for them and I may have caught some already. Take a look at pics and weigh in with a yes or nah or maybe. No splotches but it has the broken strings of darker scales. This one was a toad. Had the splotches and the broken rows of darker scales. I think I can add Shadow Bass to the list for this year.
