  1. Thanks for the report.
  2. They are spawning on shallow rocky areas (shoals), but seem to be biting better in a little deeper areas. I DID NOT have it quite as easy as Justin. I drifted along with the current and wind fighting for control of my boat. I had "better" areas, but not ONE spot. I feel like the best spots change from day to day. You KNOW they are there. You can find where they are that day without too much trouble.
  3. It was VERY slow for me for a long time, but once I got on the right bait and found the right spots it got better and seemed to get even better LATE in the day. Maybe they would have bitten anything better late in the day. I still have a WHOLE lot to learn about catching White Bass in the Ozarks. Glad you caught em.
  4. I hate to miss out on the fun, but I committed to fish a Cystic Fibrosis tourney on Norfork weeks ago before news of this nefarious plot leaked out. Hopefully, I can make it next year.
  5. SUNSHINE AND SHADOWS. Heck, I haven't seen that much this year.
  6. The water was Beautiful. First time for me to catch White Bass in water that clear. I saw the White Bass roar in and eat my bait many times. Sweet !
  7. It's on at Tecumseh. I caught 52 fish today. It was a really great experience. Figuring out where the White Bass were positioned and figuring out what baits to use for the different areas. I caught two limits, but I released them all. Water temp up Bryant was 54'. Upper 40's at the bridge. Good Luck!
  8. I generally consider the largest fish with the obiviously swollen bellies to be sows. The little guys may be immature females or males, but regardless I strictly fish catch and release on White Bass.
  9. Thanks jmes. I might have to go that route. $11 a piece plus shipping for a bait that might not work properly after the repair is too rich for my blood, but I do understand about free markets and charging what the market will bear. I'd love to find someone that replaces the biil with a properly shaped piece of circuit board material.
  10. Thanks Mike. I appreciate it.
  11. Thx for the intell. Yep, broken bill(s). Still too painful to talk about (jk, sort of).
  12. I've heard some people repair 110's for a fee in some areas. Does anyone offer that service in this area?
  13. I knew the fish would turn on soon. Thursday we saw water temps from 44-50, but no real active fish. We caught fish, but small ones. Good for you. I'm jealous. HOPEFULLY, my day will come.
  14. what sort of water temps were you seeing?
  15. I would hope that some of the rising water temps would hold on for you. I fished Norfork with a buddy last Thursday. The smaller fish have moved up and looked like they had been shallow a few days, but the few larger fish we caught looked like they had just moved up (still washed out colors). We saw a lot of fish suspended between 20-30 foot, but I am not at all sure what species of fish those were. We probably caught MOST of our 27 bass on finesse jigs, but we also caught a fair amount on jerkbaits. I only caught one on a wart. The fishing should improve. Do what you do on Table Rock and you should be fine.
  16. DD is ODC. Not that that's a bad thing. I'm really starting to reach for the scud when there's a lot of chop on the water. I have had my best luck with various brown or tan, but I also carry gray and olive. Once I get everything lined out. I'll try to have some olive some grey and some brown. I'd like to carry 3 sizes (14, 16, 18) of each color and 6 x each size. so total of 54 scuds.
  17. The epicenter of all evil Wal Mart has cardboard boxes full of classic Pradco baits on the real darn cheap. $1.50 for Zara Puppies, old school Wee R's, Tiny Pop R's, 1/5 oz Spots, Rebel Minnows, and more. Pretty decent colors, but not every color ever made. Great baits for creek fishing.
  18. Vonreed's 20 is about 4 times my lifetime total on BSL. So with a grain of salt, I agree they tend to feed on bottom. I would imagine any natural bait like worms, minnows, crawfish, maggies would be readily bitten by YP. I think they are fairly aggressive little guys, but seem to be widely scattered through out the lake. The best intell seems to be on y'alls end of the lake, but I talked to a diver that claims to have seen LARGE schools of them in Sister Creek and I know of them coming Theodosia area and Oakland and Big Creek and Sugarloaf and and and. I'd to bet a dollar that I could catch one on any given day though.
  19. No regs at all since they're not supposed to be there. I've heard fish tales on ppl catching them from one end of the lake to the other. I've caught a few in the lake and I even caught one in the White River itself below BSL. The trick is catching them big enough to fool with cleaning.
  20. DD, what about single siwash hooks on those Mag Warts? I'm sure the long days in Alaska are filled with work to do at the lodge, but if ANYBODY could justify the expense of the equipment and effort to re-paint baits, it would be you. If nothing else, eBay them in patches of 25 for $50 post paid with a Buy it now option. Easy money.
  21. The White Bass are gonna have to cross their legs and wait a while.
  22. A Coosa will be my next Yak. Still loving my Tarpon 120.
  23. If you want to laughat Someone sticking their boat on a sand bar or a mud flat have at it, but I don't see potentially fatal boat accidents as a laughing matter at all.
  24. I don't really see anything funny about it at all. They very easily could have been seriously hurt or killed outright. His silly behavior and temper tantrums annoy me as well, but he's proven himself to be very capable fisherman and he's apparently a decent guy off the water as well in terms of talking to kids and fans. I guess you guys haven't ever been involved in an accident.
  25. And the rich get richer
