  1. Wish I was down there with ya. I was at work staring out the window thinking about fishing. Phil took some great footage of you, but did you knock his camera in the water?
  2. Springfield Lake has to be one of the most unique fisheries of the area with the warm water generation. It patterns different than any other body of water due to the warmer water. I remember catching fish on a crank bait in january. Try that in any other body of water. I am new to the A rig but Might give it a go. I usually pick up most of my fish either on the back near the railroad track or on the chunk rock bank prior to the boat house. Will throw the A rig this spring.
  3. When water is generating, I look for a bend to where the water is slower and focus on that area as fish tend to stack. I am a wooly bugger and streamer fisherman as I have been taught by a fellow forumer. I did watch a guy catch fish after fish after fish on a midge, although I couldn't do it. I did catch fish my way though on 1 unit of generation.
  4. I guess that means get the ap on your phone and quit bothering us. Phill must have secret access, or they are screening my calls.
  5. I know that Phil posted the message, but I seriously have been calling the number for a week and get the same message "all circuits are busy" I hope they resolve this problem soon. I like the convienience of this number.
  6. Its down for me as well, I will check into that app,
  7. I knew they installed a new voice system and yes very cool, but haven't been able to get a hold of it since Saturday. Says All circuits are busy. Just wondering how much table rock came up after all the rain on Sunday?
  8. Anyone else recently call the table rock generation number and get a message that says "all curcaits busy"? Just wondering if generation line is down.
  9. Just wanted to say, I had a blast last night. I didn't relize it was possible to catch that amount of fish in a given time. A big Thank you for really shortening that learning curve for me. It is really much appreciated. On the drive back home last night James says "I'm buying a fly rod" I'll holler at you in a few weeks Doty Mike
  10. I see that 7 pounds and some change wone the tournament. How does this compare to years past?
  11. The last few times that I have been to fellows I have been skunked. Poor stucture on the grafts with low water situation. Don't know if this fishery is struggling as much as I am trying to fish it. Anyone else have this same problem?
  12. If they don't taste good, leave them in the lake to grow bigger for me to catch.
  13. Older subject on this forum, but I just wanted to say I was very impressed by the service that was provided by this shop today. I checked this place out with a buddy of mine new to fly fishing. I was wowed when the gentleman volunteered to set up my buddies rod, which only had backing. Pretty good guys in here. I will definately be going back.
  14. Thanks for the info. If I have this correct, when you call the phone line for the number of units generating, you really don't know how much water is going through, only if you check the chart on the generation website?
  15. When they are running 75 mw or 1.5 units, what will the automated computer generated message tell you they are running 1 or 2?
  16. Just curious, How many units are they generating the time of this video? thanks
  17. I went out lastnight and the only one I saw was the conservation agent, who politely checked my liscense. I am fairly new to Taneycomo and don't quite have it figured out. I did manage to hook several small rainbow on a 10 white wooly bugger. I was wondering what others threw at night. I was drifting and got the majority of my fish at the end of the drifit even after holding for a few seconds after the end of the drift. Makes me think that my depth wasn't quite right and I should put an indicator on. I was wondering if people stripped leaches at night, drifted nymphs, or had any other technique.
  18. That looks like a nice walleye sandwich
  19. blue black, peanut butter n jelly, doesn't really matter they just eat it.
  20. Fished springfield lake this morning for about three hours. It was the first time i had fished all summer and figured the top water bite would be good. Through a buzz bait and a spook in the morning but no luck. Switched to a spinner bait targeting the edges of weed beds, no luck. Finally found the bite in the edges of the main river channel on a square bill. Hit multiple crappie as well as small bass. I switched to the jig and started flipping. Had the best luck with this. I mean fish swimming the jig off before it hit the bottom. all in all 3 crappie and 6 bass. Nothing over 15 inches.
  21. Unbelievable. The dam is a magnificent site and beautiful with all the flood gates open, Just terrible the destruction that water brings. Praying for drier days for you folks down there at taneycomo.
  22. When that water is in the 50s its hard for me not to have a wiggle wart on, Which arm do you normally fish? Glad to hear you did well.
  23. Go to Fellows, figure out that bass bite and let me know, jk, I have to work all weekend and with this rain and the spawn in the forecast I bet a lot will be changing before I get to go out.
  24. No felt under the weather on sunday, a lot of couch time and nothing to show.
  25. Never made it up there, anyone have any luck last weekend
