Sometimes it's pretty easy to catch Muskie in that spillway/creek.....they are stuck there
-
I tease his Rambo vigilante butt about it every chance I get, but he& stuck on it, just like all you wannabe heros. Just remind him to check that safety often and stay off the sauce. Andy, I am not a not a wannabe hero as you suggest.I have lingering effects from that night that cause me to have fear......thats it.I did not walk into the council chambers, I wasn't allowed to. I heard mabey the last two or three shots pumped into that piece of dung from the parking lot.Several cops were already on the scene and entering city halls side door in front of the police dept. They rounded everyone up at the scene and held us next door until they figured out who was who. I did see officer Biggs laying on the sidewalk with half of his head blown off at the corner of Lindebergh and Monroe though.I do know from a witness in the room and now mayor of Kirkwood that my friend Connie was the only one who confronted this piece of dung and she payed with getting her head blown off with a cops 44.Call me what you want Andy, my life is not riddled with fear as you insinuate but,I carry a gun now. I don't call anyone who dosen't carry a pistol a wannabe victim......don't really care.I would never carry in waders though but,I carry when I have to take pictures of a risk near Calvary cemetary or when I am alone out in the sticks. Make fun of me all you want......really doesn't matter too me.I was just stating there are reasons why people carry not just because they are wannabe heros as you suggest. You don't need to fear my guns, they are either locked in my safes at home or in a holster on my person and can't be discharged accidently.

I tried to stay out of this but, I can't. I do carry a gun most places I go and all of the anti gun zealots can rip me for it.....I don't really care. Is it fear, the reason carry????? I think so but, I have no problem saying I have fear. I have been carrying a gun since one of my dear friends was slaughtered by a piece of dung who felt the he had to seek revenge against the city of Kirkwood. I was late for the city council meeting that night, four years ago as I was to give my three minute bitch speech to the city council about opening up our street to a larger ajacent subdivision.....thank god. Unfortunately some retard shot two cops, the mayor, a reporter and few council members. He slaughtered one of good friends Konnie Karr who was going to be the new mayor. the whole experience changed me......smelling the gun powder from all the discharded rounds as I arrived, bilowing out of city hall and having a dinner date already scheduled with someone who has just been slaughtered by an animal like him did a ton of damage to my opinion of carrying guns.To hear first hand accounts from people who were in the chamber begging for their lives from this animal haven't helped me. He was able to kill two cops who were openly armed in a very diceitful manner. I was also mugged at gunpoint in New Oleans in 1990, these thing have put fear into me but, my life is not overloaded with fear, I just know what humans are capable of and I carry a gun now.........I think it's funny that people are afraid if I'm carrying on the river......deffinitely not carrying a Deringer and not in church.

thank you Dan!!!!!! sometimes the BS on this forum is nausiating and looses it's entertainment value. When I think of enlightened minds as it pertains to rivers and preservation I think of the MSA and people like Ron Kruger and Al Agnew. I don't even know who Larry Dablemount is, and the MDC is doing an ok job IMO, they a bit of an elitest attitude which I think is wrong.

not sure how you can compare the amount of people dying from Bee stings who were more than likely alergic to that venom vs the amount of people venturing into the deep woods and getting killed by cougars......not the same, not even close. I would venture to say a lot more people are exposing themselves to pet dogs every year than people venturing into an area that potentialy has Cougars. It's impossible to throw out a true stat on how likey you are to die from beeing attacked by one thing or another....unless you are saying the general anount of fear in regards to a specific creature is created by the amount of people beeing killed by that creature a year. it will never be apples to apples when you throw out stats -

" I'm not that worried about cougars in Missouri, just leary, when you see first hand accounts up close of a kid geting wacked like that it does make me give them a lot of respect" ?????? just have some wierd memories of that specific attack. Hot dogs suck unless they were blessed and inspected by a rabbi -

http://www.thefullwiki.org/List_of_fatal_cougar_attacks_in_North_America There has been 17 actual recorded fatal attacks on humans since 1970 in North America. There were only 5 actual recorded fatal attacks from 1970 all the way back to 1890. Fatal attacks seem to be on the rise and how many attacks have there been that were not fatal or not recorded??? who knows??? I don't think we should shoot them onsite but, we should be able to deffend ourselves if at all possible. Cougars are a very beautiful animal and gets my respect anytime. I lived near Idaho Springs, CO in the early 90's and the attack on that poor kid running on his high school cross country team's course right on campus was grizzly to say the least. There were pics in the news of the scrapes on the hill side ajacent to the track where the kid was trying not get dragged into the brush by the cougar. He was an 18 year old kid who was quite heathly, not a child.the Boy went missing and it took two days two find him. When he was found only a short distance from the track, the cougar was still feeding on him and gaurding his body. I'm not that worried about cougars in Missouri, just leary, when you see first hand accounts up close of a kid geting wacked like that it does make me give them a lot of respect. -
that's funny Same here Flyflinger, it's funny to here the other side of this. They will demonize guns anyway they can, even infer that you are walking around afraid, ready to squeeze off some rounds at anything that moves....lol

The Missouri Smallmouth Alliance is well aware of this, and the upcoming March/April issue of the Bronzeback News examines this dilemma and offers sound solutions in Matt Wier's regular column. It suggests combating the bad example of slobs with a good and conscientious behavior through participation in the Missouri Stream Team projects, but it also suggests reporting outlandish and illegal behavior to bring some law and order to lawless situations. In the same issue, Dan Kreher presents one of the best articles I’ve read concerning Missouri trespass laws. The Bronzeback News goes out to all members of the Missouri Smallmouth Alliance, and I encourage everyone to support this alliance and check out this important issue of the Brozeback News. Thank you Ron!!!!!!!!!!! good point Ron, kill them with kindness and show them first hand if possible how much you respect the rivers we love.

Don't worry Al, I can't even find the creek......I had never fished it so it intrigued me.......I sure wish I was fishing with Mitch on the mec today. Check that I did find it.....very nice -
Hey, it's sweet to see Mizzou get an SEC level recruit at the expense of the Razorbacks. The move to the SEC hopefully will start to help shut down the borders of Missouri when it comes to 5 star division one football talent. The move to the SEC is going to pay off bigtime. There is a ton of great talent Mizzou has been losing out on, they need to shut it down. http://www.stltoday.com/sports/college/mizzou/dorial-green-beckham-signs-with-mizzou/article_0258deea-4cd9-11e1-9a23-001a4bcf6878.html?oCampaign=email man I wish I was fishing somewhere

Smalliebigs replied to Smalliebigs's topic in General Angling Discussion
Totally agree, thats why I posted this for the guys who think the A-rig is the devil. The dude let it go and you can bet there will be some dorks trying to go to Picwick this spring with the record books in their eyes -
I met this guy selling his cheap, very good sunglases at the St.Louis Boat show about 4 years ago and he is a very nice guy. Here's his story from wired2fish....what a pig Largemouth!!!!!!!! http://blog.wired2fi...rgemouth-Caught This will flare the A-rig debate.......I predict a state record Smallie or Spot coming on an A-rig out of Tablerock unless they ban it.

My uncle live off of HWY A near Bell Mountain Wilderness area just north of Johnson Shut ins.You can hear cougars fighting and screaching every other night or so, this has been occuring for the last 5 years. There are Cougars in that area for sure, I have seen them at dusk crossing his pastures more than once. If there are no breeding pairs down there as the MDC claims, they are some seriously horny and pissy cats that I would'nt want to be around. Andy you don't have to justify your opinion, the MDC's stance on Cougars is just that an opinion as well. I happen to agree with you, I think there has been to many sightings to not have some pussy around.
