Maiden Voyage And Smallmouth Fishing....pics
Smalliebigs replied to LittleRedFisherman's topic in General Angling Discussion
Dude, what a sweet rig!!!! I can't tell you how jealous I am. I have been looking at buying a jet for long time now and I think I have finally found the person to custom build one for me.I fished out of a Supreme for a week a couple of years back at Taney and man was that a really nice glass boat. I'm going with a Missouri made hull that is aluminum so I can start Blazing some trails. I learned from a good friend who has been showing some precious pieces of info for jet boating on rivers that a tiller is the most accurate and safe way to jet on smaller rivers. You also save on weight without a console. That is a Very sweet rig you are going to create some fun times:have-a-nice-day: -
The Mystery Of Winter Smallmouth
Smalliebigs replied to Al Agnew's topic in General Angling Discussion
I know.....when I looked at that pic, I felt the same way.......I haven't worn a watch in a decade and I donated the shorts and fanny pack to the St.Louis Rainbow Coalition. Sorry to burn such a sick image to your brain, I was jonesing to post some fish pics.It wasn't 96 it was 92....still not an excuse for the atire though. -
The Mystery Of Winter Smallmouth
Smalliebigs replied to Al Agnew's topic in General Angling Discussion
" Figure we stumbled into a wad of smallmouth migrating out of Ashley Creek" that's exactly what you stumbled into...............sssshhhhhhhhhh Ashley Creek 1996.........what a frigin dork!!!!!!!! nice shorts and fanny pack!!!!! jesus christ. I must say I agree with Al on this one, I saw the fish he's talking about and heard what the MDC said about the placement of the tag, confirming it was tagged in the tributary miles away from where it was caught and subsequently released.Smallies migrate in the winter when there is a big spring with in acceptable swiming distance to their normal summer hole or area.At least that what it seems like to me. -
" He was a fraud" LOL!!!!!!! ha ha you guys sound like the biggest bunch of jilted lovers. I played baseball from age 5 to now and played division one basball in college, although I was red shirted and transfered the next year to a juco school but, I was still recruited division one. I have played baseball at a ton of different levels and if you don't understand why the mvp of your team dosen't run out all of the mundane ground balls through out a season of at bats well you just don't understand professional baseball. They aren't playing in little league, millions of dollars hinge on stupid injuries that keep your mvp out of the line up. If anything Albert was to agressive on the base pads and pushed it to much. Also for everyone that keeps saying the cardinals are going to spend 22 million somewhere else????? I will believe it when I see it......I don't see Jimmy Rollins with the birds on the bat on his chest yet.Show me what they are doing.......Matt Holliday could possibly be the most overpaid player in the league, the World Series MVP,David Freese, is more than injury prone and suspect at best for a whole season, your best young hitter, Allen Craig is also injury prone and just had surgery and won't even start the season next year. So you better go do something.... but, I doubt that much will actually happen in free agency as it has almost all but dried up......Fielder??? you couldn't pay Albert how can you do him??? A washed up center fielder like Beltran????? sorry but, Jon Jay is not a bonafied major league center fielder he can't hit!!!! I s Mike Matheny going to let Tyler Greene play short stop???? 2012 will be way different than 2011 thats for sure but, Albert Pujols is not a fraud and will hit over 300, drive in over 100 runs, score close to a 100 and hit over 30 home runs for the next 5 to 6 years for sure. The Cardinals have nobody that you can count on to do that for the wole season with out beeing injured, so it bums me out to see him go but, I will always laugh at people from St.Louis who think that we are the Mecca of baseball and players should take less maney to play in the holy land......pathetic, get over yourselves

I saw Mitch's crawdad in person today and held it my hand, saw a little video clip of it ungulating in his sink with no current. Mitch you are darn good softplastics maker my friend. That thing will catch fish, the only problem Mitch will have with this crawdad is trying to keep the smallies from eating it so fast. That thing is going to be deadly....good job.

River Bassin Tourney Trail 2012 Coming Here!
Smalliebigs replied to Stoneroller's topic in Fishing Events
Good for you Mike!!!!!! I am personally glad you went out on a limb and worked with Drew and the people @ Riverbassin to get their tourney's here in Missouri. I know you had to do some foot work and I commend you for that. I'm down with any river drainage in Missouri, just tell me where. One thing for sure with me is, I think the Riverbasin trail does it right in regards to the fish. It's the least invasive to fish in my opinion, compared to any other fishing tournaments I have seen. -
nope, we live in Kirkwood behind Powder Valley Conservation area thru the woods. Unfortunately my legal bow hunting came to an end 01/01/2011 after Kirkwood passed a very ambiguous city ordinance. I have a ok video clip of the sparing battle in my front yard, it's just I'm not impressed with the Iphone's videos.

Andrew, I think I would reconsider storing the boat, with the lower temps, the lake temps will drop and the Jerk Bait is about to go off. Go get some MB Ito Vision 110 and the new -1's and hold on it will happen. I love the Jerk bait bite!!!

I am not a huge deer hunter, I actually just started bow hunting last season. These two bucks were fighting this morning at our bathroom window so loud we thought someone was breaking in the house. The younger and smaller buckthis one was really beating the crap out of the older one this one to the point where he had the older one limping and really scared it looked like. I always just assumed the bigger deer were more dominant??? The decent size 8 point just beat the piss out of the 10 pointer with a much bigger body. Mabey the older deer has seen better days or he's the dad and junior is moving on up??? Anyway they were loud and it was kind of a brutal fight my daughter Emily didn't like seeing the deer fighting in the yard while dad that is was really cool. looks like there is a new deer in the hood???

Recent Trip From Boiling Springs To Slabtown
Smalliebigs replied to The Kayak Kid's topic in Big/Little Piney River
Nolan, Dude those are some sweet pics and one hell of a smallie. Kudos to you!!! taking your son on trips like that are something so special it's hard to put it in words how sweet they are to someone who wasn't there. Your son won't be able to thank you enough in years to come for the experiences you brought his way, great job!!!!!!! You have an Al Agnew in the making there Smalliebigs Scott -
I can't agree with you more Skeeter, there is nothing worse than seeing the carnage after a big tourney. You may not see it the next day but, two and three days after the event you will see bass floating in the vicinity of the weigh in and I think it sucks. I don't live on a beautiful lake like the rock and it kills me to see that, I can only imagine how someone would feel who lives on such a killer lake seeing the floaters. Your idea of a trophy area of the lake I like and should be considered. I have fished only 5 tournaments and I do like some aspects of them a great deal but, it's not worth the carnage if you ever get the chance to see it first hand.

Sweet!!!!!.....I saw a Bronze football swim up under the last little bridge by the river a couple years back that was pushing 20 inches......it's getting to look alot like that time of year
-
Wow!!!!! very nice smallies.....man they look nice. The custom paint color is cool too, you don't see that brown very often. Great job!!!

Mitch- Tell your friends to take pictures. Two of your SMA buddies caught personal bests recently. No pictures? In this day and age? Personal bests no less. Another friend tore them up walking the dog. No pictures? I don't get it Mitch and Al are two dudes I don't think I would question the validity of their story or reports. They have both caught so many dang smallies it's silly to think they would have to lie about a catch. I'm lucky, I'm friends with Mitch and he lets me see the pics

I suggest you drink heavy, very heavy, not to the point where you can't stand on the Coosa but, heavy enough to where the family dosen't make sense to you anymore.

until you get a paler shade of candidate in office but don't expect anyone to believe that economic growth has anything to do with eliminating conservation set asides. Oh please......................................

Sweet Black River smallie!!!!!! sometimes they are so gold out of there, like the one you have here........very nice

I agree with Gavin 100%, they will never cut the inflated benefits or income of County Goverment employees. Which is happening across the board in every sector of the work place, instead they will always threaten some actions that will pull at your heart strings like closing or selling parks or cutting funding to disabled County residents. Lets face it St.Louis county is in a precarious posistion in a very bad economy.Pathetic leadership like Charlie Dooley dosen't help, with his block of leeches voting for him in North County he's good to go. The manufacting jobs that made St.Louis great are all but gone, it seems as though St.Louis County is going down the crapper with the city. Unless St.Louis re-invents itself real fast, urban sprawl will kill it and I can't say I don't blame all the people who have moved. I have remained but, it really gets old watching people like Charlie Dooley running St.Louis County. I use several St.Louis County parks, George Winter and Route 66 quite a bit.....they aren't closing. When you take a job that is funded by tax revenue you should have to realize that the funds might change from time to time......but, it doesn't seem like we can make those employees accept that......see the state of Wisconsin

I think we need to be thankful for the habitat we have to fish in the Ozarks, whether it be rivers, streams or lakes. I have WFN and saw a program on there that shows fishing tournaments in England and it's more than pathetic. They call it FishOmania and they sit around what amounts to a golf course pond with hundreds of spectators??? catching different spiecies of what looks like Carp and suckers. If we deplete our resources this much and our fishing becomes this, I will deffinitely be playing golf. I think it so funny how the left always says how good Europe is at everything from fuel consumption to healthcare........I don't want their fishing.....it really looks weak.http://youtu.be/DHaSyYhDBa4 http://youtu.be/G-RQPeyoEU8

My bro is a State Trooper who helps WP and Laclede county. I just thought it was funny they videoed themselves busting people. My bro stays in the rear with the gear for the most part, I don't know if they bust many people with expired plates or boat stickes but, he should. I do know that he bust a ton of people comming up 44 with trunk loads of weed with expired license plates....how stupid. It's ovious that WP needs more help to do what they need to do to keep the rivers safe from people like me......they use all kinds of different authorities in their endevors. I agree with Cricket why bust giggers in the cold when you can see healthy women in rafts bouncing around in the summer.
-
Lemme guess, his screen name is P.Owensby ? LMAO! Nope....he wouldn't get on a forum about fishing. Let me say, I don't fish the Niangua when they are out there busting people. I know when water patrol is out there and when they aren't. I don't need my bro and his buddies searching my canoe and it's contents.....don't worry wrench I still hit the Niangua and the park in the winter for smallies
-
Sweet video Justin!!!!! nice shot Eli!!!!! that's good stuff, very cool!!!! thanks for posting
-
I know what yer saying there's this dude who's always in my canoe who smokes weed all day long.....the dude is mellow and catches a ton of fish One of these officers is my brother, they love to bust people on the river.....not in the park. He is one of the reasons I stay away from the Niangua. ]

Dang, Phil that's sweet....i'll be booking some days.

I know I won't take my boat up to the cable until I here from buddy on how bad it is up there. That means no funds from this money whore and I spend a ton when we are there....thats too bad for Taney and it's business owners. I agree with Bill.......... if the MDC doesn't want boaters on the upper end have the balls and be honest about it, and address the issue you have in a more direct manner. I wade fish and fish from a boat but, prefer to do both when I'm at Taney if we a re lucky with the generation. Those rocks will keep my boat away from there uless I can rent one from Phil and be allowed to go to the cable.
