  1. Wow!!!!!! sweet pics and that Meanmouth is crazy!!!! also do you know the people selling the cabin you listed or is it you???.....kinda interested. thank you in advance....you can personal message me if you would like. scott
  2. i'm pretty sure you can only put your boat in the five larger lakes, Shane the one we have a very nice lot on which is 231 acres, Capri which is 240 acres approx, Marseilles which is 81 acres, Carmel which is about 110 acres and La Fette which is about 70 acres. The rest of the lakes or ponds can be fished only from the dams only from what I thought??? I could be way wrong on that though, they range from 5 acres to about 20 not all that big. A perfect rig for any lake there is a 16 foot jon boat with a 9.9 hp with atrolling motor IMO.The best thing about Terre Du Lac is we have a Country club, although it's not fancy we have an 18 hole course that has a great track with killer views and lots of mature trees with a 9 hole course that isn't Agusta National but is very tight and offers a challenge, all of this with in less than an hour from my house in Kirkwood. There are alot of older people there but, most are some of the coolest people I have ever met. I use the locale as a starting point to venture out to all the ozark streams I like as well and there are many very close....we have an access on the upper Big river in the nieghborhood....it's an easy going slow pace area thats good for kids...thats why we just bought a lot....the problem is the lake i'm on the average house would be worth $300,000 to $400,000, so there is a bit of pressure to build a pretty nice house....not sure if we have the jack right now to take that on. My wife an I will more than likely keep are lot and will be buying a river property if we can find the right spot on the right river??? We sold a nice place on the Meramec 2 years ago in Bourbon, one of the most scenic spots on that river but, the ajacent landowners and outfitters drove us away from our paradise. the grass always seems to be greener....sometimes I sit up at night kicking myself for selling that cabin and land but, we will someday be on a river again as it is my wife's and my dream....somewhere......health issues and children beeing born made us make some rash decisions.
  3. rynofasho, you will be happy to know that all of the houses in Terre du Lac are on are own sewer system.....there are no septic systems here, it is all pumped out to a water treatment basin. the water in our lakes are some of the cleanest you will find for a developed property of it's size. We have our own police force and fire department. as exiledguide said some lakes are better than others.....my dad and i sink a tree a year in his lake, which can be a big under taking....i almost sunk his pontoon boat a couple of years back with a very big cedar...their lake is pretty deep so it hides structure from all of the amature hour, bankbangers who are just looking for meat. I catch very nice fish from Capri,Shane and Marseilles but, most don't as it can be tough
  4. tanvat, wait until 09/15/2012 that's when the gigging starts and it's in our heritgae as Ozarkians to be able to go gig......lol what an fing joke. The clear and low water conditions across the Ozarks are going to create a perfect storm of slaughter for the giggers who are poachers......the likes of which we haven't seen in a bit.....the end result will be many trout and smallmouth skewered and it will take a long time for the smallies to recover but the trout can just be restocked. I'm praying for a deluge of rain for months that clouds the rivers with high water until spring....not to pull a Todd Akin but that's what I want....otherwise it's going to be slaughter city out there.
  5. We have a lot there on Shane and are continplating a build and my parents live on Marseilles, right next Capri. There are fish in there but, it is much better in the spring and very good in the fall. As Troutbum stated it's private unless you own a lot or live there. My parents lake has been stocked with Smallmouth from Mill Creek and the Big River.....some freak did it in 2008 and they have really done well as I caught a 18 inch football this spring. The lakes are stocked every other year with Catfish, Bass and small amounts of Crappie and Bluegill and the local meat hunters will attack them at will so it's a bummer. I catch several Largemouth in the 3 to 6 pound class every year on the olde Wiggle Wart in the fall and the area provides me an excellent starting point for my river journey's. There is a local police force that tends to be a little agressive which I find appealing....actually wish they were more, so we could keep everyone out that doesn't live there but, it's just about impossible.......so beware if you don't have a sticker or a pass....we had a meeting at the country club last week and all board members agreed it's time to put the long arm of the law down....we hired three more cops to keep the methheads OUT.
  6. I sure wish there was a lot more like you out there......it would make things much more peaceful

Dude, once we get just a little more rain contact me and we'll put my boat in @ the Bottoms, I fish there from about now until the end of October.....we will hammer Hybrids up to 12 lbs, White Bass, Sauger, Walleye, Drum, Flatheads and just about every other fish in that ditch. It won't be in a canoe but, my 20 foot Seaark will be much safer and you won't spill any tequila. If you insist on using a non motorized hull have fun and wear a life jacket, I have seen quite a few small jon boats capsize out there.the chain bridge right now is a three to four foot rock ledge...I have to go thru the canal with the barges. We go from the Bottoms down to and up to the lock, down to the Arch. I have some very nice spots around Bryan Island on the Missouri you would like....let me know....I think I'm going this weekend
  9. This is what Mitch Cumstein's packing, A Sig Sauer 1911 Scorpion 45 ACP, A footlong cajun roastbeef sandwich with everything on it from Majic Market, A big bag of Funyuns, An extra large Baby Ruth, A large Orange Gatorade, A three gallon jug of Appleton XXX reserve dark rum, An extra 4ounces of Wray & Nephew's overproof rum, Malibu coconut rum, Orange juice, Pineapple juice, A splash of Cranberry for color and a bit of ice....not too much we don't want to water down the nectar, A dugout full of White Widow and some hot sweet deer jerky.
  10. sounds like someone might be having a fish fry????.....yum!!!!
  11. Well all here are crickets chirping............do your homework
  12. LOL...... Small creeks that produce should never be exposed on this public forum, even though I say there are no secerets. You should get some maps and and go mine for Bronze on your own it will more rewarding when find a sweet creek. They are way too precious and fragile, overuse and catch and keep anglers are ruining many with in your parameters you posted.
  13. Troutnut69, I'm with Smallie those Crappie and gill are sweet on the fly and to be honest the food on your blog looks the best....man that looks like some good eats out on the river......your pics are sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Wow, Backfin you're right....very cool and bravo to both of you for releasing that beautiful Brown. that says alot for C-n-R
  15. It is kinda goofy that they tied the poor chick up and all.....I have never seen a cow eat a chicken??? I do miss Quail though....I used to love walking into a covey and boom they go flying....scared the crap out of me the first time....lol
  16. I'm with ya brotha....and you're just talking about basketball recruits. The guys on here that think Missouri's offense is as fast as the SEC's defenses just have not seen many SEC games. It's time to seal the borders of Missouri of D-1 talent, I hope Missouri's entry to the SEC will help them do that, we will see. Um RIVERRAT, DGB was born in St.Louis in a project to looser parents and adopted by his football coach where he played....sounds goofy to me but whatever. I think thats considered a St.Louis recruit. Time will tell....but, Mizzou is not going to have a fun time on the gridiron for a few years until they get some real recruits in there.DGB is a good start but one receiver does not make a team on both sides of the ball. Missouri has never done well in St.Louis and Gary has basicly ignored it like an ignorant fool......things change though. I was a d-1 baseball recruit in 1988 and ened up going to Tulane, back then Missouri's baseball team was a club team with no affiliation to the NCAA.....now Missouri has a decent d-1 team.....so things change. RIVERRAT I am a big Mizzou fan but, I just think Gary Pinkle is a D-2 coach and his staff resembles that as well. With Missouri moving into a real confrence they should have considered making a splash with a legit coach as well.........sorry if that pisses you off but, Mizzou is a non pro offense that is nothing but a gimmick.
  17. I'm not trying to stir up the Chick fil a contorversy but, this cow is listening to their montra sorry bored at work again http://youtu.be/oXhElaGCZVU
  18. 8-4.....wow you must have love the Black and Gold Kool-aid???? lol....just kidding. their non confrence schedule is way harder than it normally is so I will say 6-6 if they have no injuries, which is just about impossible.....so realisticly speaking 5-7. Now, Basketball will be a different story....Mizzou has a squad with some transfers that will be one hell of a team. Mizzou and Kentucky will dominate the SEC on the hardwoods this year but, football well....Gary and his crew are going to get killed.....not enough size and a very gimick laced offense with little or no speed at the point of attack is going to just kill them in the SEC. Bottom line is Mizzou's football coaching sucks, their offensive cordinator is weak at best and Gary is really just a figure head that recruits. The future of the program is in dire straits if they can't recruit the best in the country and seal the borders of Missouri of D1 football talent, which there is quite a bit of here, but they haven't been able to do it in the past so time will tell. They can't let all the D1 killer talent in the St.Louis area go to other schools.....Gary is seriously lacking in keeping home grown heros in Missouri.
  19. Get out and seek for yourself......trial and error is your friend and time. Honestly this site doesn't help the fishing in any of our creeks and rivers so mums the word from me. There are river vets on here that can identify a body of water if you expose to much in the backround of your image posted so beware. Pretty sure thats why we don't see many pics on here and read so many stories about alleged catches.....which is cool with me. I will admit I really want to see the pics but, I do understand why people post stories instead of reports and pics. The internet is a killer of productive streams nowadays.
  20. darn, you guys are paranoid down there....lol..... I feel the same way to a very, very small degree about the MSMA but, I got over it and love the MSMA now. I just don't take people fishing very often or go with many people.....so I guess I'm just as paranoid as you???
  21. Uh Drew.......your interpretation of American Exceptionalism sucks. Drew, just because you use a phrase dosen't mean you built it......someone else made that phrase happen. We are screwed in this country here's your future
  22. Go fishing while you still can and like Phil has said many times in the past this is a fishing forum......thanks http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/155193/thanks
