I was out yesterday and fished from 2:30pm until 5:30pm. I fished around State Park (bluffs), Big Cedar (gravel points with timbers) and up around point 1 (gravel points with timber). I fished in the wind everywhere I could and only got one largemouth on a jerkbait. He was right up on a bluff wall and was maybe 13". I tried the grub in the same areas and couldn't get any takers from the bank out to 30' of water.

Gage's/Long Creek Marina has 87 octane with no ethanol. Big Cedar has 89 (if you can get it).

Awesome shots Doug.

Fished the same areas this morning and the grub fish had dried up. Got a few whites on topwater and one small spot on the grub. Moved over to point 5 and got a couple nice smallmouth with a white spoon (15-20' on bottom). Fished from 5-9. Might bass fish tonight and go for trout in the morning.

My father-in-law and I fished around point 5 and over in Spring Branch this evening from 7-9. I noticed as I was picking him up at his dock that there were a lot of fish suspended at 15'. We got over to Spring Branch and started counting the grub down while sitting in 30-35' of water. As soon as it hit 15' we would get bit. We had over 10 with three or four keepers mixed in, all spotted bass with one little smallmouth. We had a blast catching them and I'm hoping they stick around tomorrow. I fished up at Rock Lane on the way in and had a few small ones doing the same. Hopefully, it's a 'any gravel point' type of thing.

Hello, We made it out about 5AM this morning and headed to point 5. Had a few fish surfacing but didn't get any on topwater. Based on info from this forum we threw the jig in 15-17' (bottom) of water and threw the grub in the same water about 5-10' deep. We caught a few smallmouth and a few large spots. We headed up to Indian Point, on the Stillwater/Indian Point Boat Dock side and fished coves where we found schools of large whites that liked the grub and a spoon on their head. The whites started about 8AM and shut down by 9AM. Heading back out tonight after dark (and fireworks)...look for black lights in the rub rail, that will be us. We will be around the Rock Lane area.

I don't believe there is a minimum for any MO lake. I would be more worried about getting swamped by some of these large cruisers. As long as you use common sense and stay in water your boat can handle, you'll be just fine. I had a little 12'er I used for fishing Taneycomo that I'd drop in Table Rock every once in a while. It had a 7.5 on it, I only used it around the cove though.

We cleared the buoys at 5:15 this morning and headed toward point five. We caught a few of each species. We caught spots on deep dock ends with a grub, smallmouth in 20' of water on a point with a jig, then largemouth up by Indian point that were chasing shad around docks (grub again). Tried topwater everywhere and didn't get any takers (popper), they were surfacing but not a whole lot. Didn't see any whites today. Got to see a few of the PAA guys up close as they drove past us on plane about 20' away, if that.

Hey guys, went out about 7PM tonight. Tried the pop-r, senko and the grub. Found a BUNCH of schooling whites down by point 5 that would only eat the grub. They were just about everywhere from the tree line out to the middle of the coves. They were all really good size and had a few small black bass mixed in with them. They wouldn't take topwater at all, but would eat the grub just about every cast. I fished till dark and they stayed hot all night. Back out at daylight hopefully...

Not much help now, but I fished the Indian Point area Saturday evening 5:30-8:30 and had five fish. All were right at 15" Kentucky's on topwater (popper), one on a grub. They were right at the edge of the tree line in ~15' of water. Water temp was 66 degrees Saturday. I fished again about 6:30-10 on Sunday night and didn't have a nibble. Switched from topwater/grub to a black spinnerbait after dark and still couldn't get anything. Boat traffic was pretty heavy so that might have shut them down. Water in the same place was 71 so it will warm up quick this week.

Just read it will take 937 before the extra spillway kicks in. Amazing. Everybody stay safe...

I have also run into the Big Cedar/no gas problem. They say they will give you 5 gallons of gas in an "emergency". The first time I went there, I too didn't know they were a "private" marina, they did in fact sell me 5 gallons of gas though after begging. They won't even sell you a drink of water in the store unless you're staying there. I assume it's all red tape as they surely would want to sell as much as they could (one would think). I also keep a SeaTow membership on our boats which covers running out of gas or most other mechanical problems. I believe they have a base out of State Park and Cape Fair. It's a cheap insurance policy and covers boats you own, any boat you drive, and roadside assistance anytime you trailer a boat.

Sounds like everybody caught them but us. We tried down the Kings (after a severe weather delay huddled under a dock), mouth of the Kings, Shell Knob, Aunts Creek, Joe Bald, Kimberling, Pt. 5, Indian Point, State Park...everywhere. One keeper over two days (that my buddy caught) and a few shorts. We tried jerkbaits, grubs, jigs, warts and anything else we could find. We just didn't have it this weekend. We did the dinner Thursday night with KVD and had an awesome time. There were only a handful of people there and Kevin was great to talk with. All in all, everything was great and Oakley/Big Cedar did a great job hosting the event. Can't wait until next year. We will be back on the lake this weekend for the annual Table Rock cleanup event put on by Table Rock Water Quality. If you're bored this weekend and tired of catching fish, come and help out at the clean up. For more info, go to http://www.trlwq.org/index_files/shorelinecleanup.htm.

9.34, hopefully brought in by our boat! -
We'll be there! We will also be at the "KVD date" on Thursday night.

Just talked to Larry at Rock Lane. The courtesy dock was damaged pretty bad and the gas dock was beat up a little. The other docks are fine.

He has to "pet" all of them...

Hello, Fished the dam area from 10AM Sunday until about 1PM. Got one in the 3-4 pound range on a jerkbait. He was on an east facing long gravel bank, right at the edge of some standing timber. Caught him about 10:30 and he was in 10' of water. Tried the grub before the wind started and even right after, but no takers. Stuck with the jerkbait the rest of the day after getting the first one, didn't get any others early but went back out about 3PM and fished until sunset. Caught a 14" smallmouth and a good 3lber on the same jerkbait (white w/blue/chartreuse) on a bluff end right past state park. Got a pic of the second keeper...the first one is on a different camera so I'll add that later.

Hey guys, Didn't get out until about 9AM yesterday. Had the little guy with me and he doesn't like to get up too early. Fished the wind blown banks and pockets and didn't catch squat. Tried the bluff walls, gravel banks, chunk rock banks...nothing. Tried the grub, chatterbait and even a quick jerkbait...nothing. Starting fishing docks in the back of those wind blown pockets and found some fish. They were back in the stall, but they were there. Not sure why they weren't out on the bank, maybe the storm scared them to the docks.

Thanks guys....I am probably over-cautious, but I run "Don's Cocktail" that he posted on the Bass Boat Central website (http://www.bbcboards.net/zerothread?id=310172). From the site: I assume that's a little overkill but I'd rather be over-cautious than kick myself later for saving a few bucks. Also, I talked to Long Creek Marina/Gage's and they are open 8 to 5 each day still. Not sure how late in the year that will last but I'll be filling up tomorrow for sure. I don't run too far and that should last me a while. They have 87, no ethanol, which is what Merc recommends for my 250 ProXS. The state park marina does have no ethanol, but it's premium (91 or 93)...same for Indian Point, What's Up Dock and Rock Lane. Merc recommends 87 and the mechanic has it in my head that anything higher than 89 will cause trouble down the road. Look for a white/silver Ranger if you guys are out tomorrow, I'll be in the Dam area and will probably fish tomorrow evening and Sunday morning. Good luck if you go out!
-
Hey guys, do you know of anywhere on the lake to get 87/89 octane, no ethanol gas this time of year? Long creek marina has 87 but they said they'll be closing for the season soon. I can only find premium, no ethanol at most marinas. Big Cedar has it but will only sell it to you if you're staying there. My Merc wants 87 and the mechanic said not to run anything above 89 in it, no ethanol preferred of course. Any ideas? I'm on a lift at Rock Lane so pulling it out and going to town is a pain (and then I get ethanol). Thank you...

Thanks Bill, looks like we're going to have some very cool nights, maybe that will get them going. I'll be out this weekend in the Dam area and will be trying the grub and the jig. Good luck everybody!

Went out from 7-9AM and got six, four smallies and two largemouth. Had three of the smallmouth in the 14-15" range. All on the same grub, all 10' off the bank on the same bluff walls from 1-5' deep.
-
I went out about 4:30PM and headed toward the points down by the state park. I fished the wind blown bluffs with a crankbait (shad Wiggle Wart) and a grub (Kinami Shad 1/2 oz). Couldn't get anything on the wart but caught five with two 15" keepers on the grub before 7PM. I cast to the edge of the bank/bluff, gave it a 5 count and brought it back to the boat. Had a keeper Kentucky and a keeper smallmouth. Also caught a hump-back deformed smallmouth too, never seen that before. Shooting to be out at daylight in the morning...looking for topwater and grub fish.
